How it actually works:

The Altcoin Season Index tracks how many of the top 100 coins have outperformed Bitcoin over a rolling 90-day window.

Stablecoins and wrapped tokens are excluded, so the index only measures real, speculative assets. The score is also weighted across multiple data sets, not a simple headcount.

The thresholds are the part most people miss:
🔹 75 or above = altcoin season
🔹 25 or below = bitcoin season
🔹 Anything in between = a mixed, neutral market
