Would be nice to hit for once and not having to trade our picks and prospects to fill like a #2C or bottom 6 role...

I knew Marner wasn’t the problem so glad he’s thriving away from Toronto just like a certain Kadri who won a cup.

Just for your info when Avs won that 2022 cup they had 5 drafted/developed players all in the top 10. Only Newhook 16th OV. The rest are trading picks and players. That's roughly 24% of the roster.

Even if we kept every single one of them do we even win a cup this decade? According to you we should keep and develop which means no Lehkonen and Manson if we do that.

@joebob120 @LukeH999 @Avalanche Clearly reading isn't your strong suit. "Can't develop and draft outside of the top 10." Avs made their core off high picks 1st, 2nd and 4th overall. Rants (10th) traded for Necas. When was the last time a pick outside of top 10 was part of our core draft or trade?

@Chris__Conner @Avalanche What I hated with CMac is finding a #2C going low risk high reward type of deals. Getting RyJo then trading a 1st to get rid of him. Traded Byram for Mitts who was pretty good that year but was magically a shell of himself the next year. Again it falls on just resigning Kadri.

A big problem is Mack unwillingness to play a dump and chase game when the speed rush entry in the ozone doesn’t work. You saw Landy try to dump the puck multiple times but Mack and Necas never skated to pressure Vegas dman. Easy breakout for VGK
