On Saturday, while we were out doing our health screening for hundreds of men and women, a woman walked up to me, her eyes filled with a story.
“Doctor,” she said, “you saved my life.”
She told me she’d had a brain aneurysm.
For those who don't know, a brain aneurysm is like a weak, bulging spot on a blood vessel in your brain. A ticking time bomb. If it bursts, it often leads to death.
She had seen one of our videos, recognized a symptom she would have otherwise ignored, and went to the hospital.
Luckily, they caught it in time.
In that moment, everything else faded. The metrics, the follower counts, the long days.
None of it mattered.
Because right in front of me was the real work.
A life. A story that could have ended differently.
Thankfully, her life didn't end.
But this is how we do it. And this is why.
We don't just create content to get views, we create so that in a crowded market, in the middle of a busy day, a life can be saved.
The work is not the video. The work is the woman who stood in front of me that Saturday.
And I'm so grateful that she made it.
