@AdamKinzinger Even some Republicans and @FoxNews are admitting that this is a terrible deal. #diaperdon should have just kept the old deal in place, saved us $325 billion that we know of, save the lives of at least 13 services members and who knows how many suffered injuries.
BREAKING: Veteran journalist Jim Acosta is vindicated in the worst way possible as Trump’s latest outburst proves he IS a danger to democracy and a free press!
Back in Trump’s first term, the former CNN anchor was among the first journalists to sound the alarm that Trump’s antipathy towards journalists presented a serious threat to democracy, a free press, and basic truth.
Naturally, the MAGA world lost its collective mind, accusing Acosta of grandstanding, making it all about himself, and being a rude, overdramatic showboat.
But Trump just spent years proving Acosta right on a daily basis, and it's gotten demonstrably worse during his second term, culminating in yesterday’s angry, sexist attack on CNN’s Kaitlan Collins before she’d even asked her a question.
Acosta posted the receipts last night, resurfacing the infamous 2018 press conference clip where Trump personally berated him and insulted him personally on live television:
“CNN should be ashamed of itself, having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN… You are the enemy of the people.”
Acosta’s question that day was about the Russia investigation, one that Trump clearly didn’t want to entertain. He told him to sit down, and launched into his first major “enemy of the people” rant against the press.
“When I called out Trump years ago for being a danger to democracy, a free press, and truth itself, I was accused of making myself the story and showboating,” Acosta wrote today. “How did things turn out? Trump is all of those things. Tonight, the free press is very much in danger in America. Wake up!”
Like a modern day Cassandra, he was right then, and he’s even more right now, and he should be heard.
Trump never stopped attacking the free press, and has only intensified his derision for journalism, and disrespect for the truth, and accountability.
The pattern of screaming “fake news” whenever he hears something he doesn’t like and launching ad hominem attacks on reporters as professionals and human beings has been part of the playbook since day one, and will continue to be so if we let it.
History has proven Jim Acosta correct. If the United States no longer has a free press, it’s not the same country. That must not happen.

@DougWahl1 I will not watch a state sponsored network. Adios @CBS and @CBSNews. You’re pandering and bootlicking of @POTUS is sickening. Time to short PSKY. Success on that front will force them into bankruptcy.
@washingtonpost No reason to even watch 60 minutes or CBS now that it’s state run @POTUS propaganda. I would like one news day with hearing anything from Trump. Remember the old days? If you didn’t hear anything from the President, he’s working.
@SorenPetro@DBLesky Out of it before June 1. Went last Sunday to watch that train wreck and then saw it again and again and again all this last week. Someone needs to go and I would start by looking for a good hitting coach. Pitiful!
@MayorLucasKC this is disappointing. I hope the city makes a lot of money off these weddings. It’s going to take quite a bit of it to fix all this damage.
Allow me to be the first to congratulate the MAGA morons, who spent years howling about the $1.7B that Obama returned to Iran.
Your 4D chess master is handing Iran $300B, to open the Strait of Hormuz, that Obama kept open for free.
Brilliant!
The Republican Party quietly deleted their own ad attacking Ken Paxton's record on crime... because Paxton is now the Republican Party's nominee to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate.
Figured if the ad is important enough to delete, it's important enough to see...
@jazayerli For the last several years I refused to drink the offseason Cool Aid that the @Royals and the media were pushing. This is the same team as last year’s, just a few new names to make the losses look different. My only regret now is buying RoyalsTV package.
