@Akademiks I like to look at rap as a product of an environment. It’s human experience. I don’t really care about all the bragging because you right it feels fake. But glorifying the degradation of your community is even gayer.
@gypsynurse14 This happened to me yesterday. Why did bro look at me like he was ready to end it and he was looking for just an ounce of human kindness?
@ML_Philosophy Empathy is a double edged sword. The kindest people realize they were kind to those who proved themselves as undeserving. It’s not about what you have done. It’s about what you’re doing right now that makes you worth it or not
I ain’t white but I’ve dated Mexican, black, white, and Vietnamese. And the Vietnamese woman was the most kind and caring. She was fierce and full of drive, like she wanted to prop me up and take care of her family. She made me a priority and made sure I knew she would follow my lead. Genuinely made me feel like she wanted the best for me

Dear Pretty Little Bird,
I don’t know how to start this.
I told you that you are a gift, but you couldn’t take it as a compliment. I thought about it for a long time. I knew it might make you feel like a burden, but I said those things anyway because finally in your life you will get the truth.
I know your brain is telling you lies. I wish you could shut them out and see reality, just like I do when I envision the beautiful life we can share together.
You say you feel safe with me and that you trust me. I know your trust is a reflection of my actions. I even put up my own shield trying to protect my feelings, but right now, I need you to trust my words.
Sometimes I wonder if you minimize my love and kindness. I don’t hold it against you, I know your brain is just trying to protect you.
Maybe you think I am simply a good person who would treat anyone this way, making you feel not special. Or maybe you are angry that it took me so long to find you, or guilty because receiving this love feels bittersweet.
Like when DoorDash forgot your KitKat and your brain said, "You don’t need it anyway."
Maybe you even resent it because it feels like the care you should have received as a child but never did. Perhaps your body treats this affection as a threat to your livelihood, responding as if it were a matter of life or death. I don't blame you. Your brain is just on overdrive, heading straight toward survival.
It’s a lot to handle, I can see it every time we get close and our connection grows.
Your warm embraces followed by defense mechanisms, I call them sword and shield. You can keep up that shield until you figure out it’s really a dead weight.
It’s ironic. Your warm embraces broke through my own defenses. That takes real strength. That’s the strength of yours that I love, not the strength it took to survive, because I know you hate that.
My walls are now just rubble and dust. You have my heart, and I’m letting you keep it. Do whatever you want with it. Throw it. Stomp on it. Hold it. Protect it. Hell, even break it apart. Then throw it into your pile and we can stand by each other picking up the pieces. There is nothing else I rather do with it anyway.
I will gladly revel in the ashes.
Watching a Pretty Bird fly,
Me
@MarcusSchuff@BadgedPatriot Well I’m not so sure about that. Professional ship pilots needed licenses. This is a good point tho. Classes should be free and licenses shouldn’t be taxed. If you have a means for a car then you have the means for a license.
@sazifide As a business owner and a parent. I’d wake my kids up to go to work with me. But they’re so much more smarter than me and have a great support system. They will grow up to be better than the man before them
