This is such a load of horseshit. Hunter explained the "outsider" thing and everybody knows it's true. Joe is a state school guy that all the Harvard brains in DC have always sneered at. And the Obama guys snivelling about "wHaT hE diD tO uS!!!" is the height of hypocrisy.
i'm all for searing criticism but you do have to actually criticize the material of the album if you want to write an album critique. also this would have more of a leg to stand on if you had cited literally any examples of specific critics doing what you're complaining they do
The media clearly overreacted to the pardon because they did not take Trump’s threats to go after the Bidens seriously. Unsure if there’s polling but i would guess that today most voters don’t care much about it.
Also: note how many of the loudest Biden critics have had little to say about the dozens of corrupt pardons by the current administration.
This is one of those decisions that I actually thought was not only the right call, but that a lot of Biden critics were completely unprepared for what was coming with Trump 2.0. Anyone who sees what's happening now and thinks it was a bad call is unserious to say the least.
it’s unsurprising, in other words, when people who succeed by treating academia like a regular 9–5 have habits or taste similar to those of people who have a regular 9–5
maybe spicy but one possible reason for this that people don’t want to admit is that academia rewards people with passable work and high work ethic more than it does being interesting or erudite
Everyone always talking about “talent density” in Silicon Valley when we really should be talking about how 80% of pretzels in America come from a small region of Pennsylvania
“Gifted” programs in city public school systems are simply a means of getting academically capable students into a “regular” classroom without disruptive students or remedial students the teacher has to expend additional resources. And that’s an important and necessary service
Euros keep pretending that somehow America's greater capacity for assimilation is just due to the different immigrants we get. Meanwhile, Lawrence, Kansas, is maybe two weeks away from sending a battalion of volunteers for the Algerian efforts to aid the Sahrawi.
got back to my roots and wrote about that really bad olivia rodrigo record and more specifically how embarrassing critics treat her with kid gloves https://t.co/eQq5azduWq
The common leftoid line about US-produced films concerning the Vietnam war is that they still “center” the American perspective even if they don’t portray the cause as legitimate, so they are still pragmatically imperialist propaganda.
Of course, if the films centered the Vietnamese perspective it would be “cultural appropriation” this and “cinematic yellowface” that.
And of course, if the American media apparatus just ignored the conflict all together it would be “erasure” or “denialism.” 🙄
Heads I win, tails you lose.
the weirdest part of working in a uni is you realise just how many students are absolute snitches like oh my god shut up, why are you snitching on your friends
Perfect angle. I’ve watched this, well not enough times, Geddy’s smile as she kills it and her smiles when she completes and when she hears the appreciation swell. Perfect!!
