If the longhorns find their way into the #cfp, it defeats the purpose of the playoffs. They have 3 losses, no conference championship, etc. they’d just be getting in bc they are Texas
Interest rates are far too low. Current rates haven’t slowed the binge spending sprees. Assets are far too overpriced and those who have borrowed and spent for 40 years have amassed wealth that could soon evaporate
Interest rates should be 50% higher than they are...i'd argue 7.5% target rate would be adequate. Powell is the reason they are so low...he's trying to adjust and keep them steady and let the cards fall where they may. I'd argue too low.
One of the few things I've disagreeg with trump about is his pushing to have Jerome Powell fired. The Fed is separate...and it should be. It's really stupid for Trump to get going after him. Argument could be made that any other Fed President would want rates higher
@mcuban This is just as much about government spending cuts as it is tariffs. Government Spending was the answer to everything...somethings wrong, spend more, spend more, spend more...cutting all that shocked the economy...but necessary to do it
@GovPritzker I'd argue this disruption is about cutting government spending. Government spending has been the entire economy for years...including republican and democrat years. It has to shift back to private sector.
@GeraldoRivera This sell off may be about reducing government spending and an attempt to shift back to a private sector economy. Government spending has grown out of control. The media just keeps copying each other about the tariff narrative.
I'm convinced the media is covering the wrong story and creating an inaccurate narrative. This sell off is what happens when you attempt to shift from a government spending-based economy to a private business economy.
Markets falling may be a result of government spending cuts. In recent years, government spending has "crowded" out Fed Policy. Government Spending is currently more important tha anything the Fed can do.
I'd argue this selloff is cuts in Govt Spending @CGasparino
