🇬🇪🇦🇲 Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili criticized the European Union for its silence over the detention of opposition figures in Armenia ahead of the elections.

"Several dozen opposition politicians were detained in Armenia before the elections, and the European Union did not react to this at all."

🇦🇲🗳 Members of precinct election commissions struggled with vote counting during Armenia’s parliamentary elections, according to Russian Central Election Commission representative Lyudmila Markina.

Markina said the vote-counting procedure in Armenia is overly complicated and places a heavy burden on election officials. Despite training and methodological guidance, precinct commission members encountered difficulties while counting ballots and preparing protocols, suggesting that the process had not been sufficiently practiced.

Observers also paid particular attention to the organized voting of large groups of military personnel at polling stations. In another incident in Armavir Province, unidentified individuals without identification badges demanded that observers destroy a document recording election violations. The situation was later resolved.

🇦🇲🗳 Russian Senator Alexander Savin said that opposition parties and blocs complained that their reports of alleged violations by the ruling Civil Contract party had gone unanswered.

“Party representatives told us that all the complaints and lawsuits they filed regarding violations by the ruling party have so far received no response,” Savin said at a briefing of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly observer mission.

🇦🇲🇪🇺 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on his victory in the parliamentary elections.

“The spirit of the 2018 Velvet Revolution, which you led, is alive and well... Armenia is moving ever closer to Europe,” von der Leyen said in her message.

P.S. Turkey has been hoping to join the EU for 25 years, while Albania has been pursuing membership for 17 years.

🇦🇲🗳 Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office reported that 12 parliamentary candidates have been arrested in criminal cases related to the parliamentary elections during the period from February 7 to June 7.

- 599 crime reports were submitted
- 210 criminal cases were opened
- Criminal proceedings were initiated against 349 individuals
- 14 cases involving 42 defendants were referred to court
- Among those arrested was Vahe Yeghiazaryan, a parliamentary candidate from the Strong Armenia bloc.

🇦🇲🗳 Opposition leaders criticized Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for declaring victory and a parliamentary majority before the final election results were known.

Strong Armenia leader Samvel Karapetyan described the election process as “disgraceful,” claiming that 75 members of his bloc had been jailed and more than 700 supporters detained. He said the election was not over and argued that Civil Contract’s early lead was based mainly on results from rural communities.

Armenia bloc representative Ishkhan Saghatelyan accused Pashinyan of trying to pressure the Central Electoral Commission and seize power before the official count was completed. He said the opposition would comment on the outcome after all data had been processed.

Wings of Unity Party leader Arman Tatoyan called Pashinyan’s declaration of victory and plans to form a government unconstitutional, arguing that only a small share of votes had been counted at the time and that such statements could be viewed as unlawful pressure on the CEC.

Bright Armenia leader Edmon Marukyan also questioned Pashinyan’s victory claims, noting that results from Yerevan were still incomplete. He urged the major opposition forces to present their own vote counts.

🇦🇲🗳 Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared victory for Civil Contract at 2 a.m., when results from nearly a quarter of polling stations had been counted and the party was receiving about 54% of the vote. By 7 a.m., its share had fallen to 49%, while vote counting in Yerevan had not yet been completed.

🇦🇲🗳The CEC has summarized the results from 1,512 of 2,005 polling stations.

Civil Contract (No. 16) — 49.35% (503,793 votes)
Strong Armenia (No. 3) — 23.65% (241,403 votes)
Armenia (No. 17) — 10.00% (102,132 votes)

The chart indicates that 1,032,590 votes had been counted at the time these preliminary results were published.

🇦🇲🗳Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission has summarized the results from 216 polling stations. A total of 60,724 ballots have been counted so far, representing about 4.03% of all ballots.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party is leading with 55.22%, or 32,929 votes.

Strong Armenia is second with 22.02%, or 13,184 votes, followed by the Armenia bloc with 8.36%, or 4,985 votes. Prosperous Armenia has received 5.75%, or 3,492 votes.

🇦🇲🗳A second message has come from Georgia: this time, acting Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze congratulated Nikol Pashinyan on his election victory, although the vote count has not yet been completed.

In a post on X, Kobakhidze said he expects continued cooperation between the two countries for the prosperity of the peoples of Georgia and Armenia.

So far, only around 6-7% of polling stations across the country have been counted, and official election results have not yet been announced.

🇦🇲🗳Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission has released the first results after processing around 20,000 ballots from 110 polling stations.

According to the preliminary data, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party is leading with more than 57% of the vote.

Strong Armenia has received 21.48%, The Armenia 8.21%, Prosperous Armenia 5.1%, and Wings of Unity 2.52%.

🇦🇲🗳Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission has published the first election data, showing the results of electronic voting abroad by public officials and their family members. A total of 537 people were eligible to vote electronically, of whom 410 cast ballots. Twenty-two ballots were declared invalid.

The votes were distributed as follows:
Civil Contract party - 330 votes
Strong Armenia bloc and Wings of Unity bloc - 13 votes each
Armenia bloc - 8 votes
Against All party - 5 votes
Prosperous Armenia and the Meritocratic Party of Armenia - 5 votes each
Republic party - 4 votes
New Force party - 3 votes
Democratic Union, Democracy, Law and Discipline, and Bright Armenia - 1 vote each

🇦🇲🗳Former Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili congratulated Nikol Pashinyan before the official election results were announced.

🇦🇲🗳A total of 59 criminal proceedings related to electoral crimes were initiated today alone, Armenia’s Investigative Committee reported.

Of these, 43 were opened by regional investigative divisions and 16 by Yerevan city investigative units.

Most of the criminal proceedings were initiated on suspicion of voting more than once or voting on behalf of another person. Nine people were detained within the framework of these cases.

The Anti-Corruption Committee also opened cases against 33 people today, with 28 of them detained.

🇦🇲🗳Voter turnout in Armenia’s parliamentary elections stood at 58.97% as of 20:00, with 1,476,597 people casting their ballots, the Central Electoral Commission reported.

For comparison, turnout in the previous parliamentary elections in June 2021 stood at 49.4%.

They were reportedly brought to vote en masse in the final minutes before polling stations closed, representatives of the opposition Prosperous Armenia and Strong Armenia parties said.
