But this is not just an unfair labor practice - it is an inexplicable act of cruelty during an already tremendously difficult moment. MDRC laid off staff and then lied to their faces.
With this new contract, we transform MDRCโs workplace with.... better pay + transparent compensation, just cause, flexible full-time schedules, hybrid work policies, clear grievance and arbitration processes for contract violations.... and much more!
From the day SPWU became official more than 3 years ago, our organizing has always been driven by a desire to make MDRC a more equitable and transparent workplace.
The ball is back in MDRC Management's court. We last presented a proposal on compensation at the end of May. We're looking forward to receiving a counter from Management.
This week we have two full day bargaining sessions, in addition to our normal negotiations this afternoon. Hoping to make big progress towards a #FairFirstContract at Urban!
After nearly two years of bargaining, MDRC Management decided to withhold year-end wage increases to member of @SPWorkersUnited, while implementing them to employees outside the bargaining unit, presumably to pressure the union.
