Amplifying the voice of the growing community at Quays/MediaCityUK, working with (& putting pressure on) key stakeholders; infrastructure; social/cultural.
We've launched "SQCF Communications" on Facebook. This is our formal communication channel, with a somewhat different remit to our existing Salford Quays Community Forum page (which continues).
If you live/work at the Quays/MediaCityUK then you are entitled to join either/both.
@Brian11566 We were originally told it would be at the very end of the financial year, but we chased it recently when that year was running out and are now told that it should be in Q2 (April to June).
We've spoken to the council for an update.
The design has had some changes made to it which has caused a bit of a delay, but it is expected to be implemented in Q2 2023, and hopefully in the first half of that quarter. It will definitely happen, just a case of scheduling it.
@SQCommForum Any update from the council as to when the speed bumps will be laid along The Quays? It seems the nuisance of speeding car drivers is escalating again.

Remember to give yourself plenty of time to find the sneaky animals, they're hiding all over the place!🦊
We're running our election hustings again this year, but so far can't get hold of the Conservative candidate for the Quays Ward - Dan Swift. Can anyone put us in touch?
@SQCommForum Seeking case studies for some filming around Quays next month. Anyone living in a microflat willing to talk about experience - good or bad - pls DM if you know of anyone

The full story of the fight to save prime waterfront from an outcome determined by an asleep-on-the-job planning committee.
it gives us renewed hope that we can influence future outcomes on the Quays.

This is an enormously important victory for the quays, even though Ralli Quays is not part of the Quays. Had this battle been lost then it could have set a precedent for building over our prime waterfront.
VICTORY! We saved access to #OurIrwell, stopped the towpath at Ralli Quays being stolen + diverted thru a hotel. The urban right to roam matters, so does our industrial heritage + access to nature, active travel and public space. THANKS to all for support https://t.co/7momkbBAVe
Trafford Council's Executive is meeting tonight to discuss a number of reports and initiatives to support the Council's Corporate Plan. The committee has just approved exciting plans for the multi-million pound refurbishment of Stretford Leisure Centre.
An offender who targeted members of the public at Exchange Quay tram stop for several weeks by riding past them and snatching their phones, has been detained by #GMPTransportUnit this evening. The male shown wanted x 7 for several other serious crimes.
We seem to have had a huge outbreak of abandoned trolleys. We've found or been advised of 10 in the last week. All have been reported and some already removed. If you need to report one, please use this service:

We've clearly become a holiday destination for supermarket trolleys on the Quays - five have arrived in the last 5 days. We've reported them all. Two are already gone and before and after pics are shown.
We don't hang around!
We note that Salford isn't on the list of boroughs where charging won't happen, which implies that it could happen here. We would like to learn more about what this means for our members who live in and around the Quays/MediaCityUK.
NEW: Andy Burnham says the government has asked Greater Manchester to model a Clean Air Zone WITH charges in the city centre. But he says it's agreed that there is no need for charges in Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Trafford, Tameside and Wigan #LDReporter
