District of Squamish Public Works crews have set up a self-serve sandbag station at the north end of Brennan Park Recreation Centre (Ball Field #5). Please bring a spade/shovel as needed. District shovels are available for use and should be left behind for the next in line.

Due to extreme rainfall the District of Squamish sewer system is experiencing high flows and is at risk of becoming overwhelmed. As a precautionary measure to minimize impacts to local residents, all residents are being asked to limit unnecessary water use until noon today.

Highway 99 is currently closed is both directions due to a multi vehicle accident between Alice and Cat Lake. Crews are on scene and have indicated the closure may last several hours. Any vehicles travelling on the highway will be turned around while this closure is in place.

Squamish Fire Rescue crews are on scene at a brush fire located near Squamish Valley Road and the Cheekeye Dream'N trail. There is no risk to the public at this time.
Please stay out of the trails in that area until further notice. Updates to come.

BC Wildfire Service now classifies the Dryden Creek Wildfire as Being Held. This means the fire is projected to remain within the current perimeter, based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability. More at https://t.co/35NNqhPeqr .
