@realdrmom@KGWNews Lol. PDX subsidizes the rest of the state. Rural areas are heavily subsidized by bigger cities. Also, people outside of Portland use Moda
@realdrmom@KGWNews Reinvesting the tax revenue generated by Moda back into Moda is part of what's being proposed.
Also, we don't get to pick and choose where individual tax dollars go. I'm sure I'm subsidizing something of importance to you but not to me and vice versa
@Edan_Krolewicz@DrizzoFrank@KGWNews Lol NBA players won't be paying taxes in Oregon if there is no NBA team. Who the hell is paying hundreds of millions in renovations without a significant tenant? Get your head out of your ass
@jdawgholland@KGWNews A lot of it is taxes paid by athletes and performers. That source of revenue is significantly diminished if the Blazers leave and the city will still own the building and it will still need to be renovated. Doing anything other than renovating it now is moronic
@realdrmom@KGWNews Everyone that plays or performs there pays taxes. For example, Lebron James pays taxes whenever his team plays at Moda. That revenue would be put back into the renovations and leaves if the Blazers leave. The city still owns the building that needs renovation if the Blazers leave
@dwightjaynes It should be pointed out that Portland is a bigger market than KC and Nashville and similar to BC, who already lost a team and is likely about to lose their MLS team.
@coachgeo_ lol You act like they weren't previously right about Miami not having the trade assets. Maybe try listening to something other than Miami homer accounts and "media"
@Im_not_a_fed@KATUNews You lose tax revenue if the team leaves. Those that use the arena get taxed. The city owns the arena with less revenue to maintain it if the Blazers leave (which they will if Moda isn't renovated)
@BlockedByBam_ lol you’re making this comment while not realizing it’s trolling a ridiculous trade idea from a Heat fanboy account? Never change Miami fans lol
@MrKrabappel25@Kelly23Patty@KATUNews Do you want Portland to host events that brings tourism and benefits local businesses? Moda needs to be renovated to continue that. A renovated Moda was pitched to get the WBB Final 4 in 2030. The Blazers also provide the best source of revenue to pay for Moda. Live in reality
@MrKrabappel25@Kelly23Patty@KATUNews It doesn't exist if they leave. That is the revenue that would go towards renovations. Private businesses get subsidies. That's how the US works. Portland has to play the same game to some extent. This is cheap compared to what most cities pay
