🔎 What the hell is going on in Canada?

🇨🇳 Ottawa - the federal government - promised a comprehensive Buy Canadian Policy, yet LNG Canada - a major company - President - Chris Cooper just greenlit a 33 billion dollar expansion project in Kitimat using Chinese steel for its main processing units.

While pipeline stations are supposed to target the use of 70 percent Canadian steel, the massive core facility is now buying major components - built overseas in China.

Everyday Canadians are left wondering what “building big again” will actually mean in terms of supporting our own domestic supply chains first.

On October 1 in Fort McMurray, Carney declared Pacific Link a "project of national interest."

It isn't an approval.

It starts a one-year review, with a September 1, 2027 deadline just to set the conditions.

The pipeline was announced in October 2025, signed in an MOU that November, filed in July, and declared this week.

It costs $43.7 billion and no private company has signed on. Ottawa and Alberta own it.
