Happy democracy day! These squirrels did so well sharing their manifestos with the rest of the school. Can’t wait until tomorrow to find out who has been elected, I’m just glad I didn’t have to vote, it would have been too hard to choose.
Today in music, we were listening to 2 very different pieces of music whilst completing a drawing based on how the music made us feel. It was really interesting to see all the squirrels using their imagination.
What a busy start to the new term we have had. This week we have began our learning about the Roman’s in history, writing recounts in English, place value in maths, this is just to name a few.
In DT this term we have designed and made torches, it has take a lot of resilience to get them to work and complete but we did it! We done Squirrels 🐿️
This afternoon in science, we have been exploring shadows. We looked at different types of materials and with the help of a torch worked out whether or not they were opaque, translucent or transparent. 🔦
In PSHE this term we have been looking at ways to help our local environment. Some children decided to make bug hotels, hedgehog homes or flower bombs. There was some great team work going on too.
In science, we have been making circuits using buzzers to take part in a general knowledge quiz. We are getting really good at creating circuits now, it’s a shame all the buzzers didn’t work.
The Squirrels have been putting our learning about the rainforest into practise by making a shoebox rainforest! Well done squirrels, I am really impressed with your knowledge.
🇬🇧What a super day we have had celebrating VE Day. We have learnt lots of facts about VE Day and world war 2, made spitfires, learnt how to be code breakers and had a street party for lunch. 🇬🇧
So proud of the children, exploring how their code can be used to create the letters of their initials. Some really tricky letters too! Some great perseverance shown from the class too 🤩🐿
