@Michael_Martin1 @felon_fred Girls are already in the BSA. It has now been renamed Scouts BSA. The GSA offers a completely different program. The point is to allow girls the same opportunities as boys.
@CrzyMaizeFan @felon_fred They are completely separate programs, not at all affiliated with one another. This was done so that girls could be offered the opportunities that the BSA has given to boys for a century. Also, it's now called Scouts BSA.
@MicheleBrazelt1 @felon_fred The BSA has done a lot of reforming for YP. All adults are required to have background checks, registered adults are required to complete an annual youth protection course and report any suspicious behavior & 2 deep leadership ensures an adult and child are never alone together.
@BobbyAmanek @felon_fred That is exactly what the BSA has done. The official title is Scouts BSA and boys and girls are always kept at a distance while sleeping, typically with the adult tents in between.
@Nemo19864 @felon_fred I am sad to hear this. While I don't know your situation, I do know that troops have to meet certain requirements in order to allow female scouts. There must be female leadership and a minimum of 2 female scouts. These could be possible reasons for them not allowing her.
@Zach_Sacher @felon_fred I don't see any reason that a co-ed program could not guide boys to become strong men. For any troop with boys, they are required to have male leadership. The same applies for girls. Also, it is up to each troop to decide if they will be co-ed. Boy Scouts can still just be boys.
@johnv5 @felon_fred Separate but equal is an oxymoron, not to mention unconstitutional. Furthermore, the GSA offers an entirely different program than the BSA. Youth should be able to choose which to join based upon which program they prefer. Or not choose at all and simply do both.
@MamaLlama8871 @felon_fred Boys still have male leaders and girls have female leaders. My troop is entirely female so we certainly have girl time. Some troops are co-ed but males and females are still separated into different patrols and have their own time.
