The @thecsp is an organisation that is well respected across the world for the innovative work they do.Β
I have known about the CSP even when I was working in India and Canada.Β
So it was only natural that when I started my career in the UK, I would seek ways to get involved and it has been a privilege so far.Β
πΉ Came to the UK at the end of 2015
πΉ Joined the NHS in 2016
πΉ Joined CSP as a workplace steward in 2020
πΉ Stood in CSP Council elections in 2021 and lost
πΉ Continued volunteering and joined the Professional Committee in 2021
πΉ Stood again in 2022
πΉ Elected by the membership to CSP Council
Since then I have:Β
β Represented members on CSP Council
β Served as a Council nominee on the Finance, Risk & Audit Committee
β Chaired a CSP short life working group
β Worked strategically and practically on equity, diversity and belonging issues
β Supported internationally trained physiotherapists from both professional and lived experience perspectives.
Over the last few years I have learnt how influence works, how change happens and how membersβ voices can be taken to the highest level.
I strongly believe I have another term in me and respectfully ask CSP members to vote for me as your 1οΈβ£ first preference candidate.
Your voice matters to me. I will continue to make sure it is heard.

Over the next few days you will see several posts about how fantastic #Physio25 was. Every single person involved in planning @thecsp 2025 Conference needs to be given a round of applause π π π . The same to all those who attended the conference π
But this post is about Inclusion and Belonging. Everyone who knows me knows that I plan all of my activities around my sons special needs.
I am so grateful to the CSP for going out of the way and making reasonable adjustments so that I could attend the conference and discharge some of my duties as a council member but also allowing Andrew to attend. This required a lot of careful planning and the CSP staff spoke to me in advance to understand his needs. Sylvia Wojciechowski, Chair of the CSP was constantly in touch with me to ensure that I felt welcome and belonged.
@AndrewSrik7 had a fantastic time and is sad that the conference is over.
My heartfelt gratitude to every one of you who welcomed him and said hi to him. Your smiles and the few words you would have spoken to him means the world to him. He will remember this experience for ever π π
Thank you to everyone who took him for walks. Some may have lost a few calories π. Thank you to everyone at the @cspbame stand who spent quality time with him.
Special thanks to Sebha Simson Muthuraj and Vinitha Arasu who took very good care of Andrew when I was at the AGM and Council drop in session.
Andrew got to spend quality time with his Hero @rajkumarsamuelg uncle.
Bring on Glasgow...

As someone who did not train in the UK, I have always been in awe of this wonderful institution.
Sad to see all that is happening, but I am hopeful for the future.
One thing to remember is that there are many countries who would give anything to have such an institution.
We should all strive hard to protect this treasure π
Today @AHPCommissioner and I got to meet Debbie Gray
In December 2020, I was struck really hard by Covid and through out early 2021 I was struggling with the physical nature of my trauma inpatient job.
I was at cross roads of my career and knew I had to find a role that would allow me to function along with my health condition.
After a couple of failed interviews in hospitals and a few more failed interviews in HEIs, I landed in a commissioning role at @NHSGlos and started working for Debbie.
I received fantastic mentorship and was the recipient of compassionate leadership from Debbie who understood my condition and caring responsibilities. Her guidance made me love commissioning and more importantly understand the importance of AHPs in the commissioning space.
Later James joined us in late 2022 and Debbie mentored both of us before retiring.
Working for Debbie was a turning point in my career and I am very grateful that I met her.
@Jacquih0lmes I would like to discuss something related to the work you are doing. Can I send you an official email Jacqui? I am unable to send you a DM
'Prevention, prevention, prevention is key. Physiotherapy is recommended as an integral part of womenβs health, especially with pelvic floor dysfunction.'
@SoniaKumarMP highlighted incontinence as 'woefully unsupported' in the House of Commons.

Today, I stood in the House of Commons and proudly brought forward the debate on incontinence.
No one should suffer in silence or feel ashamed of a condition that is entirely medical and incredibly common.
