Colleyville Heritage High School senior Sritanvi Donepudi was selected for the @BankofAmerica DFW Student Leader Program. This eight-week summer internship provides students with first-hand experience in serving their communities. Congratulations, Sritanvi!
#buildinpublic day 16!
- had a 1-on-1 coaching call w/ my director
- woke up at 4:30 and looked at code for projects on different types of comp. neuroscience models; went through the neuroML tutorials
- exhausted from my classical dance class, so I’ll be waking up early tmrw!
#buildinpublic day 15!
- finished experimental trial for my school research on improving biomass to biofuel conversion process
- looked into neural decoding classifiers for brain data!
- played around with chatGPT too much and looked at the basic code to build neural networks 🤠
#buildinpublic day 13+14 (weekend update!)
- session @theksociety on sat. about an MIT case study and extreme ownership
- read more research papers on RNNs
- learned the basics behind linear algebra
- spent time with my friends and family
- caught up on schoolwork + studied calc
in this weekend’s session, i learned about extreme ownership and how important it is to take responsibility of what you’re doing. ultimately, the lack of significant progress on my focus is my fault, so i’m taking extreme ownership over that and setting new goals/building habits.
#buildinpublic day 11 & 12!
- finished annotating MIT case study for session tmrw
- published monthly newsletter
- continued looking at code for AI model + Nilearn
- continued computational neuroscience course on coursera!
- finished up schoolwork and did way too much calc :/
just published my november newsletter! from practicing first principles thinking to building Synthesia and learning more about computational neuroscience, it’s been a hectic month! check it out below :)

#buildinpublic day 10!
- starting annotating an MIT case study on fast fashion
- worked on a school research project focusing on improving the biomass -> biofuel conversion process
- watched the @neuralink demo
- worked on my newsletter; publishing tomorrow since I’m drained lol
also super cool to see how what I’m learning with computational neuroscience ties into mapping the receptive fields of neurons. the idea of creating a visual prosthesis & curing blindness by translating pixels from images -> electrode signals comprehensible by the brain = insane!
pretty sick @neuralink update! learning a lot about BCIs and electrical engineering ;)
interesting to see them acknowledge that minimizing the role of neurosurgeons plays a key role in making the process affordable & available…and how full robotic surgery is the future 🤯
#buildinpublic day 9!
- mainly worked on my november newsletter; plan to publish tmrw!
- continued exploring Nilearn and trying to understand the code for the AI model Synthesia is based off of (an AI model synthesizing fmri from eeg)
- went to my classical indian dance class :)
- did initial research for a school project i'm doing on the impact of different meditation and breathing techniques on stress (definitely didn't get this idea from binging the Huberman Lab podcast episode on meditation 2x already...😌)
- time-blocked my calendar for the week :)
#buildinpublic day 8
- explored @nilearn and looked into neuroimaging plotting tools in python; very valuable resource and will definitely be investigating more tmrw!
- continued working on my article; not as much progress on it as i'd wanted so far but trying to stay consistent!
