The choice of Iskon for mid-day meals in Kolkata is a worrying trend, since they're very clear that they won't serve eggs. Eggs are the cheapest, most complete protein available, and an integral part of our food culture. Is the govt saying that eggs can be thrown but not eaten?

I and @shristhikhanna have collaborated with @Survival to highlight the issue of The Great Nicobar Project and the looming extermination of The Shompen Tribe.
The uncontacted Indigenous Shompen survived the 2004 tsunami — one of the world’s deadliest natural disasters. Now, a man-made killer is coming for their island, Great Nicobar.
The Indian government wants to replace the Shompen’s unique rainforest with the ‘Hong Kong of India’: featuring a mega-port, a city, an airport, a power station, a military base, an industrial park, and a population the size of Las Vegas.
The plan is nothing less than genocidal.
Many of the Shompen are uncontacted, but they’re not in this fight alone. Stand with them, and write to the government to tell them to drop this disastrous project: https://t.co/dbtOCBBXJ3
Such a blot on this World Cup. FIFA lets the US do their thing
Iran manager Amir Ghalenoei- "We spent so much time in the air commuting, they didn't even give us time to recover. After the game today, they said to us you have to leave immediately. It's very important for us to have time for recovery, but we've been told to return to our camp in Tijuana and we are really troubled by that. I think perhaps our team is the most repressed team in the whole World Cup."

Dear lordships,
- 100+ RTI users have been killed for exposing corruption & thousands attacked and harassed- SC is silent.
- The Whistleblowers Protection Act passed in 2014 not implemented till date- SC is silent.
But every few days the SC berates RTI activists and calls them names- cockroaches, busy bodies, and today the Court is asking who are citizens to monitor public works! Perhaps your lordships need to be reminded that in a democracy citizens are sovereign and tax payers have a right to know how their money is spent. Courts should deal with individual cases on merit without passing derogatory remarks about those who hold power to account.
This is roughly 48,00,000 votes going by an average of 1200 votes per booth.
That is 15.88 lakh more votes than the overall margin between BJP and TMC in #Bengal.
In just one month #EVMs are gutted, no more evidence. Which party benefits from it?
More evidence to suggest the state of Bengal was most likely stolen
‘Where did our votes go?’: Ask electors in Bengal’s New Town where BJP polled 97% votes in a Muslim majority booth

“Anti-national”. “Pakistani”. When you take on a powerful institution at 18, the trolls come for you. But @sidhant_sarthak has a system and it’s more clever than you would expect.

A brutal lathi-charge was unleashed upon hawkers and CPI(M) leaders in Jadavpur during a protest against the hawker eviction drive. CPI(M) Central Committee member Sujan Chakraborty, along with All India student youth leader Srijan Bhattacharya and other comrades, were brutally assaulted and detained. Multiple comrades suffered severe head injuries from the police's lathi blows. We strongly condemn this joint atrocities by the State Police and Central Forces.
Now that Delhi Police has arrested the cook, they should also arrest the sweeper, the security guard, the receptionist and the liftman.
Arrest everyone but the corrupt MCD engineers, the inept fire dept officials and the extortionist local police personnel.
First disenfrachisement, next if civil death. BJP govt.

How did LIC end up buying 10% stake in a relatively new company like Rajesh Exports which is caught with Rs.15 lakh crore of fake revenues. LIC normally invests only in large companies with a long track record. Was LIC influenced by the powers? This question will not go away.
Make No mistake !
Whether the horrific Malviya Nagar (Hauz Rani) hotel fire or Saket building collapse - these are NOT accidents - these are disastrous consequences of deliberate official blind eye to illegal activities since the bribery cut right from lowest level of babudom to top bureaucracy and political bosses is pre-decided on percentage basis.
Has any action been taken on anyone for any fire or building collapse since the beginning of hostile weather season this year been taken ?
Simple answer to this question will provide the basis for what is going wrong !
It is deliberate and nothing else !
Excl: Ground reality vs official records: Census fieldwork is throwing up data that differ from govt records on open defecation free villages, use of cow dung cakes/kerosene/crop residue for cooking in urban areas despite LPG connection, no electricity. Enumerators asked to revisit and review the “data discrepancies”.I ✍️

An enumerator from Rajasthan told The Hindu on condition of anonymity, “In the mobile app, if we enter that a household has a tin roof, we are asked by our superiors to change it to concrete. Are we supposed to lie? Similarly, if the house does not have a toilet and occupants are defecating in the open, we are told to check if there is a toilet nearby, even that of a neighbour or a relative, which they may be using occasionally or even a public urinal. Then the entry can be changed from ‘open defecation’ to having access to a toilet.”
