@googlefi I am normally very kind, patient and understanding, but this whole ordeal has brought out an inner-Karen that I do not care for. I have paid for services and now some poorly-engineered computer program posing as a person is trying to gaslight me.
Hey @GoogleFi, can you believe that I've been fighting with your AI-driven customer "support" for 3 weeks to replace my son's phone because they screwed up the IMEI numbers at the initial claim stage? Don't believe me? Look it up (Case ID [ 1-2401000040419 ])
@googlefi I have been paying for a protection plan for over two years on a phone, I have the receipts, and they are still insisting that this phone isn't covered. My next steps are going to BBB and if necessary the appropriate government agencies based on denial of paid services.
@googlefi I've tried over the phone and online chat. I've been promised that a supervisor would review the case only to have the "supervisor" repeat the same AI-befuddled questions that I'd already answered half a dozen times.
@Suzierizzo1@grok Is the man in the video an official of one of these nations? Despite the veracity of his claims, is the video genuine by merit of the speaker being connected to the situation?
@DnDBeyond I get that you're boosting your brand and everything, but could y'all spend some focus improving the site you're telling people to sign up for? If you want to see what I'm talking about, spend some time on r/dndbeyond.
Really I just wish there were a place more constructive than screaming into the void for voicing questions and clarifications. As a DM I trust myself and my grasp of the rules and my players are generally good with that, but an authoritative clarification goes a long way (3/3)
@ToddKenreck In the early days of 5e @JeremyECrawford, @ChrisPerkinsDnD and Mearls were pretty active answering questions and clarifying rules. While the 2024 rules cleaned up a lot, there's still some confusion out there. (1/3)
Would it be feasible to curate the best of the community's questions and do regular videos or maybe tweets from a WotC/D&D Rules Team account (rather than their personal accounts) to help aggregate clarifications for errata and future Sage Advice releases? (2/3)
(2/2) Seeing you opened my mind to the possibility of being the best I could, not just there to check the box as "present." I'm jealous of many of the skills you have from your VO career but I've been learning to lean into my own strengths and communicate with my players.
(1/2) The deepest effect you had was showing me what could be done. Prior to finding CR, my only examples for DMing were my uncle, a friend's step-dad and his stoner friend. I won't say they were bad, but none aspired to be anything more than barely adequate.
Man, folks keep being weird about this on repeat every few months. I am a “FINE” DM. I have my strengths and my weaknesses, like anyone.
There are SO many different ways to engage with and enjoy TTRPGs, and what is best is different at every table and crew. What I have learned and try to do works for my players, and maybe some other folks out there. They most definitely are not right for everyone (especially given the other responses to this, hehe).
That is all. Now, gotta get back to being the worst thing to ever happen to D&D. *salute*
@TDDoubleU1 @JDCocchiarella To be fair, this could be said for any of his many appearances on that network. He's consistently articulate, on-topic and calls them on their bullshit.
But yeah, I'd like the specific source linked in the original tweet, too.
@LEGOIdeas@Wizards_DnD Two quick ideas to add to the conversation:
1. See if you can integrate a dice tower for actual D&D function.
2. Coordinate with @Wizards_DnD to publish a one-shot style adventure to go with it and feature the locations/creatures in the set.
