マレー鉄道 元JR西日本DD51 1106（米子）＋FC

マレーシア南部（JB地区等）で工事用に使用されていた同機ですが、終了によりKLに異動し、先月頃からセメント会社の私有入れ替え機として再スタート。
JRでの廃車から25年以上が経過するのに、良い状態で稼働していることに驚きました。

🚂 Step Inside Thonburi’s Historic Railway Workshop in New Immersive Live Exhibition

Railway enthusiasts and history lovers will have a rare opportunity to explore one of Thailand’s most historic railway sites when the Thonburi Carriage Workshop opens its doors for “Bangkok Nithat: Live Exhibition”, an immersive theatrical experience celebrating the history of Thai railways.

Held on 11–12 July 2026, the Thai language event transforms the historic workshop into a live stage, with vintage steam locomotives and railway buildings providing the backdrop for a contemporary performance that brings Thailand’s railway heritage to life.

Directed by Silpathorn Artist Nimit Pipitkul, the production combines theatre, storytelling and the authentic railway environment to take audiences on a journey through the history of the State Railway of Thailand. Performers from the historical re-enactment group Khot Thahan (“Elite Soldiers”) will also take part.

The exhibition is divided into five immersive zones:

* Gathering at the Station
* Thailand’s First Railway
* A Platform to the Past
* Our Shared Memories
* A Ticket to the Future

Only four performances will be staged:

* 11 July – 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm
* 12 July – 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm

On 12 July, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm, the event will also feature a public discussion titled “Preserving the Past, Building the Future of Thai Railways”, with speakers from the State Railway of Thailand, railway history groups and cultural heritage specialists.

The exhibition also commemorates an important milestone in Thai railway history. On 8 July 1899, during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), construction officially began on Thailand’s first Southern Line railway, linking Bangkok (Pak Khlong Bangkok Noi) with Phetchaburi. The historic Thonburi (Bangkok Noi) area played a key role in the early development of Thailand’s railway network and transport system.

Supported by the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture and the State Railway of Thailand, this limited-run event offers a unique opportunity to experience railway history through live performance in one of the country’s most atmospheric railway heritage locations.
