Sensory processing: level 2
Emotional regulation: level 3
Executive functioning: level 2
Social/communication: level 3
Motor/coordination: level 3
Intellectual skills: level 1
The average of each of these traits and levels would then be taken, putting me at a level 2 overall
This is a follow up to my previous post
Many autistic people express that they feel as if levels are inaccurate because their specific level of functioning and support needs vary from trait to trait
Level 5= requires 24/7 support and supervision in this area
For example, if I were to be evaluated using this method and scale, my diagnosis would probably look something like this:
With all of this being said, I do believe that the diagnostic testing for autism needs to be revised to evaluate the level of support needed for each individual trait of autism, instead of just the diagnosis as a whole. More on that in the next tweet. 11/11
Whether or not labels such as “severe” or levels should be used to describe an autistic person has been a hot topic in the community for the past several years
Personally, I don't believe these labels to be entirely bad. 1/11
These individuals require more support overall than level 1s, but less support than level 3s.
The fact of the matter is, I believe that most autistic people fit this description: somewhere in the middle of mild and severe. 10/11
