establishment democrats and republicans weren’t fearful he’d fail and ruin nyc. they were worried he’d succeed and represent the threat of a good alternative
Trillionaires shouldn't exist and neither should billioniares. Tax every penny in net worth over $999 million at 100%. We can have extreme wealth concentration or a democracy but we can't have both at the same time. Pick one.
Yes @mcuban you’re right that 60% of US adults own stock directly or indirectly but what you omit to mention is that the richest 1% of Americans own nearly 50% of the stock market while the bottom half of Americans own just 1%.
@mcuban@elonmusk 90% of the stock market is owned by 10% of the shareholders. 1% own 50% of all shares. Mark's argument is an incredibly dumb argument by an otherwise smart man that only tells me one thing: they're scared. They'll do/say anything to shift the rising anti-billionaire sentiment
@SenorWinki@HormuzLetter He's "trying to get a deal signed" that exclusively benefits him and not the Iranians. He thinks he can push this narrative that he's the only one trying for a deal because dumbfucks like yourself will just go right along with it.
Elon becomes the world's first trillionaire via an overvalued SpaceX IPO. It allows the billionaires who took Twitter private to cash out after new investors raise the stock price (a pump and dump), and now they're integrating it into indexes so retirees are left holding the bag.
@Riderfan456@KyleKulinski And the estimated time to fully refill stocks is early 2030s.
None of this, FWIW, accounts for any more traditional supply shocks. Like, say, an El Niño hurricane hitting US oil infrastructure in the Gulf. We could very easily see compounding disasters the longer this goes on
@Riderfan456@KyleKulinski Not all of that can be drawn from. The certified floor is 243mb. Going in, the theoretical weekly max draw was 9.9mb. We hit over 11mb last week. 150mb is national defense critical level. We have ~2wks til the floor and ~5 months to tank bottoms at the current rate.
Barak Ravid bursting through the wall every Thursday/Friday like the Cool-Aid-Man with a copy/pasted statement from the White House claiming a miracle deal is imminent.
@Popstonox Ethan feels like he’s just fishing for any lawsuit that’s going to go his way on a technicality and then claim overall victory based on that.
@Piccisan1@christianjbdev The audacity of looking at literally hundreds of people who have devoted their entire lives to studying genocides, largely inspired by the Holocaust, and saying "no, I, a random dumbfuck on twitter, know better than them." I wish I had a fraction of your misplaced self confidence
@Piccisan1@christianjbdev No, they don't. You are coping, desperately grabbing for an argument. Some of them cite the others, because that's how academia works. Experts cite or challenge other experts and that's how consensus is formed. But they don't all do that. You didn't even read them.
@Girlurbuggin@RioStover@christianjbdev The thing that will be discussed by future historians will be "how on earth could any decent human deny something that was so obviously happening in front of their eyes?" The discussion wont be genocide vs not, it will be about the collective psychosis of Israel defenders
@Girlurbuggin@RioStover@christianjbdev Cite them or they don't exist. Because the IAGS is one of the foremost authorities on genocide in the world, with more than 500 scholars, and it has unequivocally labeled it a genocide. It will not even be viewed as a controversial thing when it's studied by future historians
