Bucks Head Coach Doc Rivers on the Summer League Broadcast: Key Quotes and Takeaways 🚨
On Myles Turner
“You couldn’t ask for a more perfect fit. He’s younger than Giannis, can guard multiple positions, sets solid screens, and is a great stretch option to complement Giannis.”
The Bucks head coach has strong praise for Myles 👀
Doc Rivers on what he wants to see next year from the team
He wants to play with more pace and speed things up, but also build on where they left off defensively. He plans to keep Giannis handling the ball more while once again surrounding him with additional shooting
(Doc Rivers also called out the refs and wanted them to overturn a call on the broadcast)
Doc Rivers on Austin Rivers
“I always told him I was going to be the better basketball player, but he’s going to be the better announcer.” 😂
Doc Rivers on KPJ
“Love him. Out of all the guys on our team, I think he’ll make the biggest jump 👀. When he first got to us, he needed to change a few things—but he listens well. In the second half of last season, he really started to become a point guard and stopped just trying to score. He can also defend and is extremely competitive—sometimes too competitive—and that’s something we still need to work on. But he has that gene, and that’s a good thing.”
Doc On Austin Rivers coaching
“He’s always been a coach at heart. I have a picture of him from the state championship in 8th grade with a clipboard in his hand. Austin has always loved being on the bench and helping out. He’s going to be fantastic—he better be.”

Free agent sharpshooter Gary Trent Jr. has agreed to a two-year, $7.5 million deal to return to the Milwaukee Bucks, plus a player option, sources tell ESPN. Bucks made strong efforts to retain Trent and negotiated deal with Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul and agent Lucas Newton.
Deandre Ayton’s top priorities entering into unrestricted free agency are a winning team and overall scheme fit, per sources around the league.
The last time Ayton played alongside an elite playmaker in Chris Paul, he produced at an All-Star type level on a title contender.
Why haven’t we been talking about how insane the 2026 NBA coaching carousel could be?
So many teams could be looking for new coaches.

OKC is adding a star next year...
And that's scary for the rest of the league.
No matter what happens this playoffs, the Thunder will be adding Serbian star Nikola Topic to its rotation next season.
Topic was the #12 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft - a pick OKC got from Houston in the 2019 Russell Westbrook trade.
But Topic had a torn ACL and would miss his rookie year. That scared away most teams... except OKC.
Before the injury, the 6-foot-6 Topic was viewed as a top-5 prospect as a playmaking point guard. A CBS Sports' mock draft had him as high as #2 overall at one point.
Next season, he'll finally make his NBA debut.
Not on a rebuilding team trying to climb out of the basement, which is where most top prospects end up.
But Topic will join a Thunder team that has the potential to dominate the next decade with their young core.
And now they'll add yet another promising player oozing with potential...
Give Sam Presti his flowers.
He's building an absolute juggernaut in OKC.
