There's so much to discuss about Alicent & Laenor bc their show dynamic especially embodies how women are very capable of benefitting from and weaponizing patriarchy, even against men. People tend to ascribe that to Rhaenyra, but that's actually the kernel of Alicent's character.
emma d’arcy has been named an honorable mention by TVLine for their performance as queen rhaenyra targaryen in ‘house of the dragon’ season 3 episode 2!
Omg they gave him a pig and laughed at him for having no dragon (which he eventually got). Meanwhile the entire court INCLUDING him bullied Rhaenyra's family until they had to leave King's Landing. This poor Aemond narrative is so stupid. He's a brat with an inferiority complex.
Rhaenyra did more for Addam when she gave him new clothes, armor, his own room, and free meals and didn’t judge him for his parentage meanwhile Corlys new who he was and still pretended like that wasn’t his son, he waited until he had nothing to offer to be a father, oh well
Leaked Rhaenyra line: “The air is thick with ghosts. Not unhappy, though. I see myself as a child come to play him a tune. He was strong then, and my mother.”
In the next episode, Rhaenyra opens with this line while looking at her father’s bed, plagued by memories.
guys that misogynistic rhaenyra screaming at smallfolk scene whilst on her period is fake. she is menstruating but she does not act out because of it. thank u god…
