One Malaysian MP has responded to several U.S. members of Congress who wrote to Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding U.S. foreign policy towards Malaysia because of the country's position on Israel.

One thing I don't understand is this: Why is the U.S. carrying Israel's burden as if Israel were one of its own states?

Malaysia is a sovereign country and has the right to determine its own foreign policy. The country has said it cannot recognise Israel because of what it considers Israel's cruel treatment of the Palestinians. How is that the U.S. government's business?
