why you should NOT buy or read Ava Hofmann's "love poems/smallness studies" available now at Inside the Castle (https://t.co/j43nLfwDEb). Thread: (1/?)
My son, Emoji Fortnite, looked up from his Macedonian lesson and said, “Trump ad portas,” to which my daughter, Salomé Athena, replied, “Trump et Vance sont une grande maladie; Kamala est le grande remède.” In the distance, my Italian greyhound, Panini, howled, signaling Vespers.
@seemoongd i think, in the future, you should probably reconsider jumping right to conclusions like "the person who made this does not have adhd" because you might not have the full context.
@seemoongd to be clear, though, the above was a joke. for indicators i wrote about things that relate to my experiences, and i really do have adhd -- although i certainly did not set out to write a story that intended to speak for all adhd people, or was even only about adhd
@1212DENIS1212@william43844477@Allodoxaa i definitely didn't set out to write a story "about" adhd when i designed the narrative for this level. more than anything, i think indicators is actually a story about friendship and the attention and kindness people have the capacity to give to each other
@1212DENIS1212@william43844477@Allodoxaa as the person who wrote the story in indicators, i do think my experiences as a person with ADHD are key to why the story is the way it is. but my particular blend of brain poisons *does* also feature anxiety and intrusive thoughts, and i think those things come through, too
@seemoongd "this piece of art about adhd doesn't convey my exact experiences, therefore i'm going to accuse the person who made the art (who has adhd) of not having adhd"
@seemoongd hi! as the person who wrote the story for this level and a known adhd-haver, this is what ADHD is like for every single person. variances in people's experiences or the way their neurodivergence manifest simply do not exist!
years in the making, finally here

I have a craft essay on trans poetics, legibility, & the fly trap of the lyric mode in this latest issue of Soundings! Major thanks to @st_somatic & Solmaz Sharif, without whom this essay wouldn’t have come together in the way it did
"i'm" a plural system. these days "i'm" using the name September more often to refer to "myself" collectively, hahaha. but the name ava is cool, too
we will probably not elaborate further about this publicly online, but we want to be more open about it generally. thanks!
