Moments ago, I spoke with Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy about the military response to the January 6 Capitol attack and ongoing security measures.
Here are the notes from my call:
I led over 100 combat missions in Iraq & Afghanistan. Combat exposure is a trauma; it affects everyone differently. If you were a Member, staff, or officer in the Capitol Wed, don't suppress post-traumatic feelings & fears. Seek help. I'm available to anyone who wants to talk.
I promise to talk to my kids about hard things and teach them how to handle conflict appropriately. I promise to teach my kids how to disagree with others respectfully.
@VZWSupport It's been a long process of being on the phone with Verizon, who wanted my bf to come in person to solve the issue. That's hard for a deployed service member. Verizon cstr svc needs trng on military issues! Thx for the in person help. It was much more stress then it needed to be.
Huge shout out to Maggie @verizon in Cheyenne, Wyoming for her stellar customer service in solving a major issue for our military family! Thank you! @hansvestberg, please consider a customer service number dedicated to the military!
@casas_jimmy thank you for a great book recommendation! I continue to train educators about creating Culture of Safety, Connection, and Regulation. Your book is always one I list! Thanks for all you do!
Honored to present to this wonderful group of leaders this week! Meanwhile @casas_jimmy is talking connection, relationship, & culture. #mtprincipals19

Today's my last day in Kalispell, Montana. I've had the wonderful honor of being with professional educators as they kick off their school year. These humans amaze me by their love and passion for what they do.... https://t.co/dMxECq6esH
