Hi! I’m Brian: baseball fan and traveler. 24/30 ballparks visited, HS Journalism Teacher, 2-Time Cancer Survivor, MSU, Love Detroit & Oakland. Go Tigers!
@cesikkenga Don’t know what annoyed me more in that inning; the missed fly ball leading to a grand slam, or all those shirtless dudes chanting ‘overrated’ at Mike Trout. It’s just non-stop bad karma for the Tigers. They don’t need more of it lol
Seven years ago I spent the afternoon rockin a cowbell with the right field bleacher drum crew at the Coliseum. The good ol’ days at one of my favorite places on earth, with some of the nicest people on earth. Sigh.
Nice to see Kenley Jansen get to two outs in the 9th inning of a one-run game
and then get the count to 0-2
and then throw a center cut meatball for a three-run walk-off bomb.
Well done, Tigers
The fun news is there are a ton of people at the Oakland Ballers game. Fans are coming out! The less fun news is that about a thousand of us are still waiting to get in Raimondi Park 20 minutes after the game started. We definitely got here late but man, this is a serious line!
@pnaught13 Haha good question! I did tell my class the other day that it MIGHT be me lol: I also have a former student in AAA with the Blue Jays (Josh Kasevich) and a former student with the Savannah Bananas (Max Jung-Goldberg)
Here’s a cool piece Henry wrote for our sports magazine, about the high school recruiting process. Fun fact: at the time of the photo, he had committed to play at the University of Texas. Getting drafted by the A’s in the second round changed his path.
