@EdwinaBelliveau You do realize Canada could eliminate all of its carbon output, and it wouldn't make a difference globally. We are less than 2% of the world's emissions, not to mention the boreal forest sequesters more carbon than we output.
@brucefanjoy I didn't need the carbon tax to keep my thermostat down in the winter and carpool when possible. I've been doing that since I started adulting over 20 years ago.
JUST IN: 'The View' hosts stunned after Dr. Phil says cov*d lockdowns were pointless for children and the damage they caused are way worse than cov*d itself.
๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
"When they shut it down, they stopped the mandated reporters from being able to see children that were being abused and s*xually molested, and in fact sent them home and abandoned them to their abusers."
"They suffered and will suffer more from the mismanagement of cov*d than they will from the exposure to cov*d. And that's not an opinion. That's a fact."
Glad someone is educating these clowns.
@patgagnon_75 It's not the cold, it's the snow cover and the lack of daylight hours for half the year. I work with solar panels and we need to at least double the recommended wattage and a lot of winters that still isn't enough.
One doesn't need to agree with the objectives or tactics of the Freedom Convoy to understand that the Emergencies Act wasn't required to deal with it.
The Trudeau government panicked and used a tool they weren't justified in using.
Not enough people understand the gravity of imposing the Emergencies Act.
It was called the War Measures Act for a long time and for a reason. It was because nobody expected it to be imposed for anything less than a war or something akin to one.
It is a form of martial law as it suspends the basic rights of citizens and gives the government massive powers to do things such as seize bank accounts or force labour from people such as tow-truck drivers.
The act was supposed to be a tool for the government to use as only a very last resort. There were many things the government could have done before using the hammer of the Emergencies Act.
The rights of citizens were ravaged by an inept government that couldn't think beyond using brute force.
We should never forget that overreach and should ensure it never happens again.
You know you lift weights if your Google search history consists of constant questions about how much protein is in........"enter food you are consuming"
I'm not against immigration but this makes me sick. Can we not have an immigration policy that is built around the needs of Canada, like workforce shortages and skilled immigrants. Just hitting a number to hit a number is a big virtue signal.
Immigration Minister Marc Miller announced that Canada will stick with their plan of accepting 485,000 new permanent residents in 2024 and 500,000 in 2025.
