I think many people felt for Fedorov, myself included. But calling for elections now is wrong on so many levels.

Ukraine is under martial law, there are constitutional and legal obstacles, millions are displaced, hundreds of thousands are serving, territory is occupied, and Russian and North Korean ballistic missiles are raining down on Ukrainian cities.

How exactly do you safely hold a genuinely representative national election under those conditions?

I always find that those calling loudest for elections have remarkably little to say about how one would actually work under these circumstances.

For years, Ukraine worked to bring its Armed Forces up to NATO standards. Zaluzhny says that back in 2019, he was already preparing reforms for that transition involving 37 laws.

Then came the full scale war.

Four years of fighting Russia have changed the Ukrainian military and, in many ways, changed modern warfare itself.

Drones, electronic warfare, battlefield communications, decentralized leadership, intelligence, logistics, rapid technological development, and constant adaptation have become everyday realities on the Ukrainian battlefield.

Ukraine has learned a tremendous amount from NATO.

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐎 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐔𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞.

Ukraine possesses something that cannot be replicated in an exercise or classroom: years of real combat experience fighting a large scale modern war against Russia.

Those lessons have been paid for in blood.

Doctrine cannot remain frozen while warfare changes this quickly. NATO and Europe should be studying what Ukraine is learning, adapting their training, modernizing their forces, and preparing for the battlefield that exists today.

Zaluzhny asks an important question:

🇺🇸🇺🇦 Haben wir heute den „Kill the Archer not the Arrow“ Moment für die Ukraine erreicht?

Alle sprechen darüber, dass die Ukraine 🇺🇦 zukünftig Patriot Flugabwehr Raketen auf Lizenz produzieren darf, das ist wichtig, aber es gab eine viel wichtigere Botschaft auf dem NATO Gipfel in Ankara, die bisher Wenige wirklich verstanden haben oder aufgreifen.

Was bedeutet das? Wie allseits bekannt, ist das große Problem der Ukraine 🇺🇦 das Abfangen von russischen 🇷🇺 ballistischen Raketen. Dafür benötigt es mehr Patriot PAC3 Interceptors. Aber kann das das Problem wirklich lösen? Die Antwort ist: NEIN!

Das größte Problem für die Ukraine 🇺🇦 stellt aktuell die russische 🇷🇺 ballistische Rakete 9M723 Iskander-M dar. 2024 hat Russland laut ukrainischem 🇺🇦 Militärgeheimdienst davon bis zu 840 hergestellt, wir können aktuell also von mehr als 1000 Stück pro Jahr, wahrscheinlich mehr, ausgehen.

Selbst wenn also die Ukraine 🇺🇦 genug Patriot Flugabwehr Systeme hätte um das Land einigermaßen abzudecken, was sie bei weitem nicht hat, bräuchten sie um eine entsprechende Flugabwehr im Land zu gewährleisten ca. das 3 fache an PAC3 Patriot Interceptors was utopisch ist. Weder kann die 🇺🇸 US Produktion als auch eine zukünftige ukrainische/europäische Lizenz-Produktion das auch nur annähernd kurz-mittelfristig leisten.

Es ist mal wieder typisch, dass wenn man insbesondere den Diskussionen in Deutschland 🇩🇪 folgt, dass allein Flugabwehr das Problem lösen könnte. Sie geht an der wirklichen Lösung vorbei. Warum? Weil die Lösung darin liegt 2 Dinge zu tun:

1. Die Iskander M ballistische Raketen Produktion in Russland 🇷🇺 zu zerstören
Dafür wären US 🇺🇸 Tomahawk Marschflugkörper sicher hilfreich, aber es gibt noch etwas Geeigneteres.

2. Der Ukraine 🇺🇦 zumindest eine Waffe zur Verfügung zu stellen, die als Reaktion sofort die RF🇷🇺 Abschuss-Vorrichtungen von Iskander-M ballistischen Raketen nach Launch angreift und zerstört.

Welche Waffe könnte das sein?

US 🇺🇸 PrSM (Precision Strike Missile) — der Nachfolger von ATACMS für HIMARS bzw. MARS2 (M270) — PrSM fliegt mit einer Geschwindigkeit von Mach5, und hat eine Reichweite von über 500km, die zukünftige Produktion von ~ 1000km. Wir haben diese Waffe erstmals bei den Raketen Angriffen der USA 🇺🇸 gegen den Iran 🇮🇷 im Einsatz gesehen. (Siehe Video)

Was die Ukraine 🇺🇦 aktuell neben Patriot PAC3 Interceptors braucht ist PrSM! Der grosse Vorteil wäre, die Abschuss Vorrichtungen HIMARS/MARS2 (M270) hat sie schon. PrSM ist für die russische 🇷🇺 Flugabwehr nahezu nicht abzufangen.

Wenn wir also darüber reden, wie es Politiker in Europa gerne tun, dass der russische 🇷🇺 Raketen Terror auf Kyiv und andere ukrainische 🇺🇦 Städte aufhören muss, dann muss man auch endlich darüber reden, dass das nur nach dem „Kill the Archer not the Arrow“ Prinzip möglich ist, und wenn man das erkannt hat muss die Diskussion auch darum gehen, welche Waffen die Ukraine dafür benötigt.

Kein Militär der Welt würde eine Gefahr aus der Luft nur rein defensiv angehen. Aber wir im Westen, ganz besonders in Deutschland und Europa tun immer noch so, als würde Flugabwehr der Heilsbringer sein. Nein, es ist lediglich eine Komponente um dem russischen 🇷🇺 Raketen-Terror gegen die Ukraine 🇺🇦 entgegenzuwirken, aber die Hilfe muss weit darüber hinaus gehen.

Die Aufgabe ist, auf die Amerikaner 🇺🇸 auf allen Ebenen Einfluss zu nehmen, PrSM and die Ukraine 🇺🇦 zu liefern. Die heutigen Aussagen von Rubio und Trump in Ankara werte ich als erstes kleines Zeichen in richtige Richtung. Hier müssen die europäischen Staats- und Regierungschefs jetzt ansetzen und dran bleiben, wenn man ihre Worte ernst nehmen soll, den russischen 🇷🇺 Raketen-Terror wirklich zu stoppen.

🇺🇦 DeepState reports that Ukrainian forces have liberated territory near Novoselivka and advanced through a series of settlements on the Oleksandrivka sector, where clearing operations are now ongoing in the areas of Voronne, Sichneve, Piddubne, Tovste, Novokhatske, and Zelenyi Hai.

As a result of these advances, Russian forces have lost at least 46 km² of territory, according to DeepState.
