@colincowherd Not sure where you get that George Pickens is a diva WR. He signed the franchise tag, which means he plans on showing up for training camp.
@colincowherd The Cowboys won 5 Super Bowls with 3 Hall of Fame WRs. The Rams won a Super Bowl in 2021 with a WR named Super Bowl MVP. Philly won a Super Bowl in 2024 with a diva WR. Eight WRs have won Super Bowl MVP. There’s a reason teams are spending big money on WRs.
@newyscruggs There’s a lot of concern with Bland. He hasn’t played very well since his big season in 2023. He’s battled injuries and is coming off a foot injury. He hasn’t been the same player since he was re-signed.
@newyscruggs You have to expect Downs to start. He was the 11th overall pick who the Cowboys traded up for. If he’s not ready to start on a defense that was historically bad last season that would be pretty alarming.
@newyscruggs@NBCDFWSports I’m good with Caleb Downs but no guarantees he becomes a great NFL player. Morris Claiborne played on a great college team, was an All American and Jim Thorpe award winner and didn’t pan out for the Cowboys.
@derekeagleton In the one season Mike Vanderjagt played for the Cowboys in 2006 his kicks were all over the place. What an adventure! He was 13 for 31 and some of his misses were boarderline shanks. He was 7 for 13 from 20-29 yards.
@derekeagleton Silly idea for a show today trying to come up with players in the draft that compare to players in the NFL, when Voch isn’t even a football guy and admitted he doesn’t do comparisons. I clicked the show off and I’ll listen next week.
@CBS11BillJones Glad I don’t listen to Mick Shots live because I was able to FF through all the March madness talk that took 7 minutes and Mickey’s ski trip.🙄 I know it’s slow this time of year but you guys can really get off track. However, the other podcasts do the same thing.
@davehelman_ Cowboys fans younger than 40 are the most loyal, because they’re not as spoiled as the older fans that witnessed the team win championships. Fans younger than 40 aren’t likely to remember the Cowboys last championship.
@RapSheet It’s going to be an interesting competition between Tua and Michael Penix Jr. Could possibly be the first time in NFL history where two left-handed QBs have competed for the starting job.
@CBS11BillJones I don’t have much confidence that Overshown can stay healthy and return to the form we saw prior to his injury in 2024. He looked like he was going to be a great player, but injuries have been his undoing. Very reminiscent of Sean Lee.
@newyscruggs In my opinion they would have found a way to sign Jones along with Cooper had Jones been a playmaking INT machine. Dak was on a 4th round rookie deal so they weren’t paying big money for a QB. Bottom line, Jones wasn’t an impact player with great ball skills.
@newyscruggs The Cowboys let Byron Jones walk because he wasn’t a playmaker. In 5 seasons with the Cowboys he only had 2 INT‘s. He was never worth the money Miami paid him. He only lasted two seasons and ended his career with only 4 career INT’s.
@newyscruggs Brandon Carr was the last top tier free agent I can remember the Cowboys signing. He never lived up to the big 50+ million dollar contract he received. The Cowboys have focused on lower tier free agents since. That may change this year.
