Mrs Shah writes:
CSI Stanborough! Intrepid Chemists identified unknown solutions during our A-level Induction by carrying out a series of qualitative analysis tests, observing characteristic reactions to determine their structures, properties & behaviours. Well done to all!
Mrs Shah, Senior Technician writes:
Daphnia's heart goes out to Stanborough!
Our new Biologists examined the effect of caffeine on the heart rate of Daphnia which supported the hypothesis that caffeine acts as a stimulant and increases the heart rate. Well done to all!
Mrs Shah, Senior Science technician writes:
Stanborough locks in enzymes!
Stanborough Biologists-to-be using enzymes as catalysts as they are crucial in biotechnology making them valuable tools for various industrial processes.
Well done to our new Biologists!
Mrs Shah, Senior Science Technician writes: We welcomed our new cohort of physicists for the A-level induction today. Our physicists-to-be experimented with splitting of light into a spectrum. We are very fortunate to have a very enthusiastic new cohort for A-level Physics.
Today is #ShowYourStripes day!
This year, St Michael's Tower atop Glastonbury Tor is encouraging everyone to use the Climate Stripes to start a conversation about climate change and the actions they are taking.
Thank you @nationaltrust!

Google Doodle celebrates the amazing achievements of women in STEM. Rosalind Franklin, Marie Curie, Helen Sharman, Katherine Johnson, Mary Anning, Stephanie Kwolek & Dorothy Hodgkin, among many who inspire scientists today. 💪🏻🧬👨🏿🚀🦖👩🏻🔬⚛️ @StanboroughS
We are excited to introduce a new addition to our Science family. You guessed it! She's an Axolotyl and our students have named her Bubbles! Axolotls have the ability to regenerate parts of their bodies. This includes limbs, eyes and even parts of their brains. Welcome Bubbles!

A Big welcome to our visitors for our Open Evening at Stanborough! Science has prepared wonderful and fun activities in Biology, Chemistry and Physics in readiness for the visitors.
Our super Senior Technician @minigemshah is already setting up the Physics demos ready for @StanboroughS Open Evening on Thursday! Here are the light gates for speed and acceleration. See you there?
In Biology, Year 9 are starting to learn about how we use and benefit from biotechnologies. With 9x1 today, we reminded ourselves about cell organelles, read an article and completed a Frayer diagram. Well done!
