Last week in Manila offered a rare vantage point into the Philippines story.
- With tertiary attainment projected to be at 32.7% in 2025 (2020),
- one of the lowest rates of new business formation (0.3 businesses per 1,000 working adults) in the region,
- electrification at 878 kWh per capita

Across my sessions at the Trans-Pacific Sustainable Dialogue @StanfordSAPARC, the Asian Institute of Management, and the book launch with Asia Society @AsiaSocietyPH and Manila House, one truth kept resurfacing.

Yoon’s failed power grab exposes the vulnerabilities and the resilience of Korean democracy. It is also "a stern warning to the world: People should take democratic backsliding in their countries seriously," writes @FSIStanford/ APARC's Gi-Wook Shin in @JoDemocracy
