Lord Stanley

I am the ghost of Lord Stanley, the 16th Earl of Derby and the sixth Governor-General of Canada.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@OJoelsen I have it on good authority that when this ol' windbag dies, he won't be coming to heaven. Not sure Satan will take him either, but it will be interesting to watch.

[Raghu Venugopal MD @raghu_venugopal]

When the United States burns, Canada aids. When Canada burns, the United States are assholes.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@dale_l_sheehan @Canes Absolutely.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@YEGBikeDad @NHL You are correct.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@EricMacramalla Hear! Hear! I couldn't agree more, Eric.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@frank_seravalli Too many Dundons who haven't done anything to help the team win. Where's long-time equipment manager Bob Gorman?

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@BarDown @Canes Preposterous! That's what I say.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@GinoHard_ Indubitably.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@sidseixeiroshow @Sid_Seixeiro @J_Pardi Absolutely not.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@edmontonjournal I agree.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@TheAthleticNHL A departure in deed. I blame the @NHL for not intervening last year when the @FlaPanthers put owners' family names on. This has gone too far.

[The Athletic NHL @TheAthleticNHL]

Nobody should’ve been surprised to see Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon’s name engraved on the Stanley Cup. Less expected were the names of his wife and children.

Here’s how Stanley Cup engraving works and why Carolina’s choices marked a departure: https://t.co/YgwT7e37HE

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@MarkLazerus I am weeping.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@BarDown @reporterchris @keeperofthecup No. Just no.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@dstaples I remember the controversy when Peter Pocklington tried to sneak one name on -- his dad's. But the @NHL turns a blind eye to the @FlaPanthers and @Canes? Shameful.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@JeffMarek I think this should be changed. I am not pleased, Jeff.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@nypost I've met the south ends of north-bound horses with more integrity than Dundon. This is a disgrace.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@USATODAY This is not what I had in mind when I pledged to donate the Cup in 1892.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@spongebobsloth Absolutely. I am not pleased.

[Lord Stanley @StanleysGhost]

@reporterchris Well said, Chris.
