It is a matter of immense delight that yesterday, on the occasion of Buddha Purnima, the ‘Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of the Tathagata’ was inaugurated in Leh. These revered relics are linked to the Piprahwa Stupa in Kapilavastu and were excavated in the closing years of the nineteenth century. They embody the enduring teachings of Lord Buddha.
The exposition will continue until 14th May. In the coming days, it will also travel to Zanskar. It offers a valuable opportunity for people from across Ladakh to pay their respects. It will also boost spiritual and cultural tourism in Ladakh.
The revered Buddha relics are linked to the Piprahwa Stupa in Kapilavastu and stand as profound symbols of the Buddha’s living presence and his universal teachings.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama Receives Grammy Recognition Highlighting Universal Responsibility and Compassion
Grammy Award Best Audiobook Narration - Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
I receive this recognition with gratitude and humility. I don’t see it as something personal, but as a recognition of our shared universal responsibility. I truly believe that peace, compassion, care for our environment, and an understanding of the oneness of humanity are essential for the collective well-being of all eight billion human beings. I’m grateful that this Grammy recognition can help spread these messages more widely.
A dialectical debate on scientific topics came alive as monastic science students presented a traditional debate before His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who has long encouraged monastic science education and the use of dialectical reasoning to explore both Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and Western science.
Monastic scholars from the Tenzin Gyatso Science Scholars Program presented the first-ever scientific dialectical debate, observed by eighty-three students from the Emory–Tibet Science Initiative’s Specialization Phase, along with faculty from Emory University and Northwestern University
I feel a stab of pain in my heart as I see the scenes of distress and violence in Ladakh. 4 people have been killed over 70 wounded. The people of Ladakh are such simple and sweet people. Being Buddhists they are so kind hearted. Yet They make the best mountain troopers in the world. They have laid down their lives to defend India and earned so many awards for bravery( including Ashok chakras). I feel so distressed at any suffering in that Shangrila. Ladakh is a very vital and strategic border state. We simply cant afford to alienate these brave and patriotic people. We must be SENSITIVE to any distress or suffering there .I am told that the CIA playbook is being played again and NGOs are pumping money to stage a coloured revolution. The CIA always fishes in troubled waters. Ladakhi demands are not outlandish. They want Sixth Schedule of the constitution. What is so wrong with that? The BJP had promised it. Why cant we give it? It is there in the NE States and in ALP. The youth is facing unemployment and are heavily on to the Social media. Hill-states are ecologically fragile. I feel we must Molly coddle and nurture such brave & patriotic people. India cant afford to alienate them. Violence however is wrong and the LAW and order must be enforced. But we must be very sympathetic to any genuine grievances. For Gods sake We cant afford to be insensitive in such a Vital border state.
Dear Brothers and sisters of Ladakh,
I stand firmly with you, those who hurl abuses or call you names are nothing but misguided souls. They do not represent the true spirit of Bharat. I have seen with my eyes how bravely you have stood shoulder to shoulder with army on the borders, how the brave Ladakhis son’s and daughters of ladakh scouts have shed blood and sweat for our motherland.
Please do not let your honest struggle get hijacked by political agenda, government will fulfill its promises. Your courage, integrity, and love for the nation shine brighter than any propaganda.
We salute you always. Jullay! 🙏🇮🇳.

Statement Affirming the Continuation of the Institution of Dalai Lama
(Translated from the original Tibetan)
On 24 September 2011, at a meeting of the heads of Tibetan spiritual traditions, I made a statement to fellow Tibetans in and outside Tibet, followers of Tibetan Buddhism, and those who have a connection with Tibet and Tibetans, regarding whether the institution of the Dalai Lama should continue. I stated, “As far back as 1969, I made clear that concerned people should decide whether the Dalai Lama’s reincarnations should continue in the future.”
I also said, “When I am about ninety I will consult the high Lamas of the Tibetan Buddhist traditions, the Tibetan public, and other concerned people who follow Tibetan Buddhism, to re-evaluate whether or not the institution of the Dalai Lama should continue.”
Although I have had no public discussions on this issue, over the last 14 years leaders of Tibet’s spiritual traditions, members of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile, participants in a Special General Body Meeting, members of the Central Tibetan Administration, NGOs, Buddhists from the Himalayan region, Mongolia, Buddhist republics of the Russian Federation and Buddhists in Asia including mainland China, have written to me with reasons, earnestly requesting that the institution of the Dalai Lama continue. In particular, I have received messages through various channels from Tibetans in Tibet making the same appeal. In accordance with all these requests, I am affirming that the institution of the Dalai Lama will continue.
The process by which a future Dalai Lama is to be recognized has been clearly established in the 24 September 2011 statement which states that responsibility for doing so will rest exclusively with members of the Gaden Phodrang Trust, the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. They should consult the various heads of the Tibetan Buddhist traditions and the reliable oath-bound Dharma Protectors who are linked inseparably to the lineage of the Dalai Lamas. They should accordingly carry out the procedures of search and recognition in accordance with past tradition.
I hereby reiterate that the Gaden Phodrang Trust has sole authority to recognize the future reincarnation; no one else has any such authority to interfere in this matter.
