james fascinates me because he seems to move through life with zero interest in making himself easier to understand. he can be insanely disciplined and competitive, then turn around and be the weirdest person in the room. he can command a stage, pick up basically any sport, make people laugh, notice when someone close to him needs something, and all of it makes perfect sense together because it’s just him.
i think that’s what makes him so magnetic. it never feels like he’s trying to shrink himself into one version that’s easier for people to understand. he lets himself be talented and ridiculous and caring and intense and soft all at once. maybe that’s why people are so drawn to him. he makes room for every version of himself to exist at once, and that makes other people feel like they can too.
