Solid math, but the framing has a gap: this isn't "which layer wins," it's "which layer holds up when models AND clients both multiply."
A scarce-model world gives pricing power to the model layer, but proliferate hundreds of specialized models and that layer commoditizes the same way GPU supply did to neocloud rents. What doesn't depreciate or commoditize: power/land/grid interconnect (the actual binding constraint right now, orchestration/routing layers that get more valuable as complexity increases (Token Factory style management across hundreds of models), diversified longtail client bases (thousands of small accounts >> two whale customers), and proprietary vertical data that's what actually makes any interchangeable model useful in a given domain.
TL;DR: infinite demand doesn't crown a winner by itself; durability + complexity-management does.
@crwiley1962@sarthakgh They are also on vacation and excited by the world cup event, not living and working in the US.
Same as Americans when they visit places like Spain and Italy and love it.
@alc2022 Physical AI's true unlock lies within biology. How to act and function in accordance to the physical world, that code, already exists within bio, just gotta find it 🦠
Perhaps for under 12 I would agree. Keep in mind you are also restricting education, creativity, motivation. You are hampering their adaptation skills, ironically when at their most fluid state, and even more important in todays world. Children in other places will out compete you. Risk is and has always been part of the game.
@jaysyoon There are hundreds of billions in deals, loans, promises that depend on Anthropic and other frontier labs to deliver on revenue and expectations. This shit can begin to unwind. Hopefully not.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible.

These latest Anthropic essays are starting to sound less like tech roadmaps and more like philosopher-king manifestos.
There's a subtle line between building transformative technology and believing you should also design the future economic system, define the "good life," shape societal values, and help decide which AI models the public is allowed to use.
The people building the oracle shouldn't automatically become its high priests.
History usually works better when there are many competing ideas, many competing builders, and no single institution that gets to write the constitution for the future.
