So no, failing power supplies aren't high-stakes situations if we as players aren't convinced that this would threaten the people we care about. If losing against the Queen doesn't kill you, why would a power outage?

Having stakes is a good way to increase how immersive the story is. Character deaths is directly related to stakes, nobody claimed it was the best way, it's just one of the many ways. Stakes can be raised in more mundane minor ways like resource shortages in the NIKKE story because it forces characters to take risks and action and it's one of the most believable ways to raise the stakes because it's realistic and everyone can relate to a resource shortage because it can happen in real life. Immersion is NOT a different aspect. They are related.

Can't believe I have to explain these basics to someone like they haven't read a single book in their lives.

If the audience are total apes, maybe. Logistics has everything to do with a good war story. Unless you just want to read a literal fairytale for children. Having resource management in your fiction is good for the worldbuilding, creating conflicts, giving more characters purpose and roles to play. The best stories in fiction always take resources into account. Get rid of the ACPU, get rid of Bready and Crust, get rid of Crown and Chime who are developing a superfood. Get rid of literally everyone that isn't directly related to felling the queen. NIKKE already considers factors like public opinion, propaganda, news media, entertainment, etc.

Heroes cannot exist without something to protect. Heroes cannot exist without the smaller members in society doing their part. A large part of war is about claiming resources. We're literally about to launch a Third Surface war.

If you want stories that don't waste time on trivial things like realism, go watch Shonen, dude. Don't walk into sophisticated media and demand they nerf the writing to your level.
