@catsuka This only adds to the confusion and fuels unnecessary disputes among those who are particularly protective of Ghibli's version. The distinction between remakes and adaptations is already blurred enough without generating further misunderstanding simply for the sake of engagement.

@catsuka I'm not a fan of using imagery from Ghibli's adaptation in the article, as the new series is reportedly based on the original books, not the film. This framing makes it look like another remake of an animated movie rather than a legitimate adaptation of the source material.

@DerrickMalikJo I just finished season 2 (amazing season finale btw) so I still have a long way to go before I get to that moment, but I imagine they'll make it vague enough so it's not totally retconned and you can still like the character
