Learning about @rachelheldevans’ recent passing, I find myself surprisingly emotional. Though her theology was further liberal than mine, I felt her love for Jesus. And so I grieve today as part of Christ’s body—thus part of my same body—has died.

@richvillodas I think we also must embrace how much platforms can corrupt our souls and have a tendency to distort the gospel over time if left unchecked. And that seems to be a key issue to me: is it possible to put a person’s message on a platform without also putting the person there?

@richvillodas Their teaching probably remains fairly moot until they either demonstrate genuine repentance evidenced by life change—so as to provide a more nuanced perspective—or someone else, with proven character, picks up the valid theological points and reframes them for meaningful praxis.
