@lorporkpie@mxmsworld I’d happily let Argentina take our position as one of this year’s hosts. I hear that the World Cup is HUGE over there. And even that is quite an understatement.
@mxmsworld You don’t have to threaten us with a good time, you know. We’re more than happy to give up our position as a host to another country who actually cares.
@krittterrr@eepyeri Don’t get me wrong. The way we handled that BAFTA fiasco was uncalled for. And I am really ashamed of the way most of us treat people with disabilities as whole. But you’d think that people who are more educated about Tourette’s than us would side with kid who had Tourette’s.
@krittterrr@eepyeri And that’s really weird, because British folks gave us Americans grief over the way we treated people with Tourette’s, not very long ago.
@TonyLaneNV Who in their right mind would open a product that they haven’t even purchased, yet? It’s one thing if he opened the gallon AFTER paying for it.
@aandliesubu@ZELLKLUMPEN And one of the worst things about it is that even people in progressive circles are actively contributing to, and even encouraging, ableism.
@MrsBr0wn_82@British_Airways They could’ve checked to see if there were any bombs. It’s not that hard. It’s really concerning that some people are only against ableism if it’s completely unfiltered.
🚨🇬🇧 This is what discrimination looks like 😡
A child with Tourette syndrome was refused travel on British Airways simply for saying the word "bomb".
Tourette syndrome is a neurological condition that causes involuntary tics.
@British_Airways You need better staff training.
This is absolutely disgusting.
@wnderlustingem But there are also some people with Tourette’s who have Copropraxia (involuntary gestures) or Coprographia (involuntarily writing or drawing obscene things).
@wnderlustingem Some people with Tourette’s have a condition called Coprolalia, where they involuntarily utter things that are socially taboo (e.g. slurs, certain curse words). But only 10% of those with Tourette’s have it.
