I can't believe I actually have to write this, but fine, let's clear things up. If I don't, a certain orange yoshi is just going to keep assuming stupid stuff about me, and it genuinely worries me how many people listen to them despite who they are.
Hi, I'm poxyboxy. I'm a transfem artist from Mexico. I love women, I love men, I am very gay.
No, I am not a nazi.
No, I am not an antisemite.
And no, I don't support bullshit like selling merch with swastikas at a PRIVATE PARTY where staff has absolutely zero control. I literally have a drawing of Trixie burning a nazi flag.
To be clear: I know it's not everyone on 4chan, but there are specific people on there who hate me so much that they spend their time making up that I'm a pedophile and a million other things. So yeah, I don't owe anything to 4chan or Mare Fair explicitly—I'm not even an employee.
Mare Fair has had its questionable moments, sure, but staff has been fixing and explaining things (EbonyGlow's posts go into detail about it). I support Mare Fair because it's been a home to me since day one. There are always bad actors, but I genuinely love this con. I have friends on staff—in the art team and in key areas—who move heaven and earth to make it an amazing event.
Yet people won't stop digging for horrible things to accuse it of, as if it were an Olympic sport. And the absolute best thing they could come up with is that swastika stuff was being sold at a PRIVATE party? Seriously? Are we idiots?
Genuine question: what do you suggest we do? Do we go door-to-door inspecting every single hotel room? Put cameras and mics on every attendee's forehead?
The worst part is reading stuff like, *"Poxyboxy defends Mare Fair way too much, that's super sus."*
Well, sorry not sorry. But I'm going to prioritize the opinions of people I actually know in real life and who have actually attended over someone whose pinned post says they moved to Bluesky, yet they're still here on Twitter starting drama.
I know this post won't magically make the insults or rumors disappear, and honestly, the fandom really loves me so I don't even need to be doing this. But there's something no one will EVER take away from me: at my sister's wedding, my mom asked me how the con was going. I told her my friends and I were doing great. Hearing her say "Thank God" with a smile, seeing how proud she was, and having her tell me to keep going in person... that's worth a thousand times more than the opinion of an orange yoshi and a green griffon talking trash behind my back on their NSFW account over a drawing I made for Mare Fair—one I made before I even knew if I was actually going to attend that very first time.
Love you guys.
Alright Alex, I see you found the straw to grasp onto yet again. Blindly labeling the con and attendees as (insert buzzword) because of one person.
Now, if you can stop fellating yourself to your annual attention orgasm I’ll indulge you in details from someone who was actually there and staffed it.
Many people can, and will, state that imagery like the ones you’re citing were heavily rejected, removed, and mocked, by both attendees and staff. It’s obvious it isn’t wanted. Whenever something did pop up, which was incredibly rare, it and the individual responsible were handled accordingly.
The staff and team handled things throughly and efficiently. I see you’re sharing nothing about the malicious Kick TV streamer who was throwing Nazi salutes during the concert and how he literally recorded himself being trespassed right? Because that wouldn’t fit your narrative right? It wouldn’t help you that there’s evidence of genuine bad actors right? Pathetic.
Your reasoning is, as always, stretched, twisted, and construing a narrative to feed your attention fixation. Fact of the matter is, bad actors exist. People who purposely go against the con’s rules and brew drama exist. You were desperately searching for something for 5 days and finally got a bite.
It was procured outside of con space, outside of any control, and clearly wasn’t seen or displayed openly by or to any staff, because otherwise it would have been handled.
You yet again ignore all the messages and posts from people saying the con was clearly smoother, carried itself better, and had virtually no major issues, and any that came up were handled swiftly.
You find a single post like this and immediately, once again, generalize everyone at the con and its attendees. I know you work for another con. I know you act maliciously and ignore all the good to feed on the very minimal bad that went under Mare Fair staff’s noses
You once again are using the dogpatch article that has been proven to be libelous countless times. You don’t listen. You don’t learn. You fester and crave attention.
Perhaps I should make a video dissecting you and your behaviors, how you spread lies about people and events, and how much false information you poison others with.
Do I approve of this and the things they have in the photo? No, I don’t, obviously I don’t. The con’s rules are clear, and they’re enforced when they can be enforced.
As always, bud. You + outside + grass = maybe some development in that brain of yours.
Stop mindlessly labeling people as Nazis due to one person. You are absolutely disgusting. Fucking hell, im a gay Latino, and you have the gall to call me a racist nazi? And what of all the other people wholly unrelated to all of this? You know, 99.99999% of the attendees?
Get your head out of your ass.
