We are delighted to have reached the end of recruitment for STAR! So grateful to all our participants, the teams involved and our many collaborators. A huge thank you to everyone who helped us get to this stage.
3/3 This study suggests that therapists should inform people that symptoms may increase but evidence suggests this is not linked to outcomes, and persist with memory work (with informed consent) if this happens, using a collaboratively agreed plan to support coping with symptoms.
2/3 Therapists often have concerns about the impact of trauma therapies for people with complex mental health problems. This may mean people are not offered evidence-based therapies, or memory work is discontinued prematurely if the person experiences difficulties.
1/3 NEW PAPER led by the brilliant Simone Burger. The first study to demonstrate that exacerbations in post-traumatic stress symptoms are common (46.5%) during trauma therapies for psychosis but unrelated to outcome or dropout! https://t.co/zollhM7obE
Over the festive period, the Manchester site has won the race having completed the very first STAR 2-year follow up! Congrats to the 1st person getting all the way through 😃
