Imaging if every serious problem that arose you formed a working group to figure out how to solve it? How many working groups does Boston Public Schools had in the last ten years? How many of them have solved the problem they were tasked with working on?
The tiers are a positive step to increasing access to exam schools. Granting 10 points based on attendance at an “economically disadvantaged school” is duplicative, not equitable and unfairly impacts SWD. #bospoli

BPS cancelled winter sports. Prvt schools + other districts have not. In person clubs allowed. Sports essential for the phys+mental health of our students who have been vaccinated, boosted, tested + masked. Pls sign + ask BPS to reinstate winter sports.

@beardedunixguy@richenza1 @catlautenschlag @BostonSchools And the SC voted on a plan without ever seeing the impact to communities (I know we’re all shocked by that). So while we can appreciate some of us with older kids see our kids need more sleep, we also appreciate its more complex than that.

The people who ran the algorithms noted they weren’t given any parameters and could have re run them to meet some basic boundaries. They weren’t provided any of the public feedback (the guy in charge is doing a podcast now about it).
