Knicks-Spurs was the most-watched NBA Finals in 28 years, averaging 20.6 million viewers per game on ABC and ESPN. The Knicks’ series-clinching win in Game 5 averaged 24.5 million viewers and peaked with 33 million viewers — marking the most-watched Game 5 in 28 years. The league also had its most-watched postseason in 28 years across ABC/ESPN, Amazon Prime Video and NBC/Peacock.
It’s so funny seeing the media pivot to calling this Knicks team historically great, as if anybody outside of their fanbase gave them any real love before they won. Everything in this era has to be compared instead of just appreciating the moment. This is not me hating on the NYK
have so much respect for jalen brunson and what he's been able to accomplish but one of the worst lessons coming from this knicks' championship run is the idea that great players need to take less money to build a great team. that's owner propaganda, man. don't fall for it.
With Konami getting all these MLB sponsors including the ALL-STAR game, maybe MLB The Show will start to innovate again instead of the yearly roster update for 70$. Lack of competition is what killed Madden.
@oldskoolbballx Denver was not going anywhere with George Karl as the HC, sure they made the WCF but Karl wasn't that fond of Melo. Melo left bc of Karl, he's said it himself.
Ummmmm how in the FUCK am I supposed to concentrate on work today. All I keep doing is picking up my phone and watching videos and reading posts from my fellow #Knicks fans smh
#NBAChampions
@stoolpresidente Nah it happens in hockey all the time. A bunch of dudes that like playing together get hot at the right minute and find a favorable matchup or two. Good on ‘em. This saves us a summer of Oklahoma City being bitch champs talk, Wemby getting glazed to the moon, etc.
@stoolpresidente Grossest championship I’ve ever seen in my life EVER!
Text book Spurs LOST this, it wasn’t a Knicks WON this.
Argue with my toenail ‘cause you know me and Dave are right
This guy would be so happy tonight. Thinking of Al and all the Knicks players and announcers who tried to bring some hope over the years. They finally did it.
Just woke up & seriously had to check and make sure I didn't dream last night...NOPE, it 100% happened. Talk about waking up on the right side of the bed with a huge smile. It still feels so surreal but its starting to settle in a bit that my #Knicks did it, we're NBA Champions
A bus driver put on a show for Knicks fans after pulling over in the middle of the celebration, opening the doors, and stepping out to dance along with the crowd as thousands packed the streets of New York
I watched teams with Lavarr Postell drop a random 20 piece game so many other obscure Knicks players roll out dud after dud season while replacing a HC less than 2 seasons for another HC who they would do the same or worse
I've been spoiled as a Yankees fans see them win 5 WS most as I was a kid. My Jets have been too far from truly competing outside of a handful of years. But the Knicks winning hits absolutely different, I vaguely remember 94, 99 was a rag tag but gritty team.
I used to have a pact with my best friend where if the Knicks weren't competitive by MLK Day I'd stop watching them. And many years I would hate the decisions the FO & Dolan would make.
