Could God create a BI dashboard so packed with data-driven actionable insights that even He could not schedule a meeting to touch base on improvements?
@ILikeTheFA@UnderSneege Competitive 800m runners usually have a positive split, with the first lap a few seconds faster than the second. The standard tactic is to go pretty much all out on the first lap and cling on for dear life in the second
@AaronBastani Yeah people who do hiring for academic positions don't care much about the applicants' pre-PhD academic records and it's likely that they didn't even ask about GCSEs or A-levels. How did you think it worked?
@mfilek@JeSeGrey At any given cricket world cup there are usually about five teams that look like they could win! It doesn't have netball's issue with being dominated to a comical degree by two teams
Learning about the Netball World Cup, surely the most boring international sporting competition. There was a run of five successive tournaments where the final was Australia vs New Zealand and the third-place playoff was England vs Jamaica. Only three countries have ever won.
@lowlandsapien very stupid misunderstanding of the situation from that Rogan guest. We solved the problem by using low-aromatic petrol in remote areas! The song doesn't even look to be a government thing
@zarathustra5150 the 26% claim is wrong. According to census 2022 data there were 970 people born in Eritrea living in Scotland who would be counted as Eritrean by the prisons service. Kerr is using the number of passport holders (19) as the denominator, so he is wrong by a factor of about 50
@maxtempers The Scottish census data that this is based on also includes the the number of people born in Eritrea and Somalia (much larger than the number of passport holders), which would be closer to the appropriate denominator
@caracal_fandom Is he a failed buzzfeed journo? Surely getting fired from the FT and becoming the AFR's gossip columnist is an above-expectation post-buzzfeed career path?
