NBA strictly functions off of this, putting D1 players in that environment daily prepares them for next level even more.

matt able withdrawing is great for unc and he is a good player with intriguing traits, but 90% of his scoring last year was catch and shoot. I haven’t seen any off the dribble acumen and Im not sire theres a ton of lateral agility or explosiveness in general

@On3 @PeteNakos the amount of money these players are getting in the portal/HS recruitment are far overblown. the star/big name players, sure, are probably multimillion dollar deals (3.5-6m range), but not EVERY deal is multimillion. ppl just assume every semi big name is getting 5mil+

@UNCballTalk everyone thinks these guys make a million+ on every NIL deal to go to a school, its just not the case. I’d venture blackwell and ngongba are the only players making more than 2.5mil. the value in endorsement/brand deals and development as a player are key selling points for duke.
