Chicago needs to answer an uncomfortable question:
Why do we spend so much time debating the rights of accused offenders and so little time asking whether the public is being protected from foreseeable danger?
Julian Mobley is dead. The reported history in this case demands serious scrutiny.
The justice system exists to serve justice. NOT to leave innocent people wondering whether they’re next.
It's fascinating that many Boomer grandparents seem to want to be more involved in their kids/grandkids lives—but only insofar as they are the ones being entertained and catered to.
I saw a post from a grandmother who moved away from her son and his young family. She felt they weren't spending enough time with her to justify living close, so she moved away and now spends her time traveling.
Many grandparents in the comments also lamented that their adult children are "too busy" for them, and that they never get invited to stuff. That their children don't "make time" for them.
I found this so interesting, because these are largely the same people who insist they shouldn't have to be "babysitters" (hot take: it's not babysitting to watch your own grandkids).
So instead of recognizing that their adult children are busy, and offering to help ease their burden by watching the kids and coming over and help clean or cook, they just huff that they aren't being entertained by their busy working children whom they refuse to help (by spending time with their own grandkids).
Incredible stuff.
Every boomer self report is that they maxed out SS contributions for 50 years straight yet still need welfare 3-5x the amount that they paid in. Take away the internet of all old people NOW
This Boomer hate started when they mandated that children kids sacrifice their mental health, their friends, their sports, their dances, their graduations, their emotional and academic development, their very childhood because Nanna and PawPaw were afraid of a virus that did not harm children.
Yeah, I read the Cornell 7 transcripts.
It’s time to protect men from false accusations, abuse of process, harassment lawsuits and people looking to score dollars through fictitious litigation.
No one should be able to weaponize the legal system without penalty.
I’m reaching out to lawmakers today to discuss legislation that protects men while ensuring the law continues to flow toward the real victims of sexual assault. #HeToo
The worst part about this is social security is overwhelmingly used for discretionary spending. There was a study that showed huge spikes in spending on gambling (slot machines and the like) on the days that social security is paid out.
Struggling young Americans are funding gambling addictions for boomers who inherited the greatest wealth generation period in history. It's pure evil.
We’re literally being taxed to death by our own parents…
We can’t buy homes
We can’t afford basic commodities
We can’t afford cars
We can’t afford education
We can’t afford food
We can’t afford energy
And these fucks want to increase our taxes even more.
Harsh truth is the vast majority of boomers would be jobless, homeless, and sexless if they were in their 20s today.
Our country was once so great that extremely average men could become wealthy just by showing up. Unfortunately they are unable to understand this. It’s their per capita.
Stealing from young families to pay much higher net worth Boomers is immoral and ridiculous. Young families already have to deal with an economy where everything is exponentially more expensive than it was for Boomers at the same age. Older people clamoring to raise taxes on the young, on top of it all, is just perverse.
We had a kid in our friend group accused of SA in college. A year or so later, huge shocker, she admitted it was all fabricated to avoid getting punished for underage drinking.
Without any investigation, our guy was removed from the officer commissioning program where he was one of the most competent and widely loved students in his peer group, and basically blacklisted on campus.
She took everything from him (at the time), most importantly his reputation. Left without many choices, he decided to enlist, and worked his way up to become an officer in one of the most elite and storied units in American military history.
He was and still is a good man, and I'm glad it all worked out for him. But there's a certain level of damage done when you falsely attach certain labels to people that never goes away, even after they are cleared of all wrongdoing. You can tarnish in a millisecond what it takes a lifetime to restore.
It's clear why God prohibits bearing false witness against our neighbor. In many cases, it's more harmful than murder.
NEW: Northwestern head coach David Braun on the Big Ten not receiving "respect" in the AP Poll:
"What the outside says about the league, I mean check the receipts. Last three national championships have come out of this league."
He latter added: "Let people chatter and the Big Ten will settle it on the field."
