It's really important that the water in your heating system is clean and dosed with a proper inhibitor. If not, you can end up with debris and dirt in the internal components of your boiler (as in the picture below), that will cause poor efficiency and eventually failure

Another good reason to have your boiler serviced. This customer would definitely have had problems if the flame sensing electrode on the left hadn't been changed at service. Always get your gas appliance checked annually.

* 1 in 3 aren't aware that servicing is required for valid warranty
