This is a short film I made to honor my mother who was raised in a town called Waterproof, Louisiana. Our family and town survived slavery and the Civil War.
My Mom lived through Jim Crow. The Klan. The silence, the resistance, the great migration. And still, she rose.

I made this film to honor her life, our family, and every Black man and woman who fought to survive and thrive.
